That's My World!

My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World Team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me! All our worlds are so different. What is it about yours that moves you, thrills you, saddens you? That gorgeous sunshine returned on Friday and I haven't seen our skies this blue in ages! What a thrill! Click on the icon and join us in sharing those notable aspects of our worlds!

As I look around my world each week I am stunned by how much beauty there is and in many ways these posts are my way of expressing my gratitude for the fullness of my life. So, today's quotes reflect the gratitude that I feel.

You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.
Sarah Ban Breathnach

The tragedy of life is not so much what men suffer, but rather what they miss.
Thomas Carlyle

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “thank you?”
William A. Ward

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Marcel Proust

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Thornton Wilder

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein

A reminder of how fortunate we are to have been born to a life of relative ease while around the world others struggle to survive.
Some readers may object to my assumption but the fact is they have access to computers while others lack access to food and clean water.

Sometimes when I say grace, I feel like I'm just "going through the motion." Thanks for the reminder, to pause and truly give thanks for all He has done...

I will take one of my God-given seconds to thank you and the meme team for letting me get to know so many people around the globe, all who would have been lost to me without your efforts. It may have been work, it may have been fun... it most surely was a very good thing to do. Bless you all.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
