Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!! And, yes, more RAIN!! I did try to find some sunny pics, but it's getting harder every week. However, you will see how desperate I've become when you look at the pic in the upper left hand corner -- I sat in front of the Christmas Cactus and raised my glass!! How do you like my new hairdo??? Well, it's either that or a drunk cactus! |

Great shadows, Sylvia, and a fun idea raising the glass! I love the wrought iron pattern. I can live with the cold, but too much clouds would be difficult for me - I need to see the sun regularly. I hope you're having a great weekend so far!
ahhh! That trivet! Love it's shadow...caught our eye right away! Hope you have a wonderful week Sylvia!!

Have a marvellous weekend****
Amazing
The geese seem determined to emerge from the shadows into that spot of sun!
SILLY SHADOW DITTY
Shadows may or may not be
Patterns of urbanity.
If a shadow threatens you,
Here, my dear, is what to do:
Grab the shadow by the throat,
Toss it to a billy goat,
So the goat can chomp and chew,
Keeping it away from you!

Great shadows for the week! Especially love the trivet shadow - it's like lace!
have a wonderful week Sylvia!
Nice! My favorites are the trivet shadow, and the hand holding the wine glass. Have a great weekend, Sylvia!
rain or shine Sylvia, you always manage to come up with some of the best shadow shots of the week. I really like that new hairdo too - great shot. and the beautiful glow in the trivet photo is nice too. have a great weekend Sylvia, and happy SSS!

I do hope the sun comes out soon, Sylvia! I'd hate to think you were getting tipsy just to get shadow shots. :))
Upper left photo: Excellent! Cheers to you!! Have a good weekend and I'll join you with that glass of wine...Make mine white please.
You certainly show a great deal of ingenuity for getting shadow pictures during rainy weather. I'm very impressed with your raised glass photo. I also really like the photo in the upper right.
Have a wonderful (and hopefully sunny) weekend.
Delightful picture pile of these photos! Love the contrast of shadow types from the defined of the trivet to the beautiful romantic softness of the flowers!
Love the photo top right hand corner. Charmaine
Sylvia, Love your collage of "shadow" photos! I, too, am a teacher--taught first grade for several years, and the last 10 I have been teaching Preschool (which has been great fun). You sound like an interesting and active lady who makes good use of her time by working on many creative things. I'll be back to your blog.

Now that sounds like a plan...a glass of wine and a drunk cactus, better him than me...cheers!!!Think I'll go pop a cork myself, feels like that kinda night...hope you have a great weekend Sylvia!!!

So creative! I loved the one withthe geese. (Are they geese?)
Yes, Lotusleaf, they are geese and we do have a lot of them around the harbor as spring approaches! Thanks as always for your visit/comment!!
Sylvia
Excellent, I love the shadow of the glass, that's the spirit!
I drove to Delaware to see my mom today, 80 minutes each way, just above freezing and raining, YUK! Bring us the SUN!
Sylvia,
I love the purple flowers...very delicate and light! Whenever I see your name, I think of my Grandma; her name was Sylvia...Sylvia Ann! :)
beautiful collage of wonderful captures!
cheers!!
I love them all, but especially the trivet. Something about iron that casts a great shadow. Good stuff.
Peace
Sorry it has been so rainy. You are the Queen of Shadows (in a good way). I had to study on the new hairdo photo. You are getting quite daring in your styling. Perhaps if I had some hair I could be daring also. I've threatened to do the world's most elaborate comb over but Heather is not taking the bait.
I love the warm summery shots. They'll be here in a few months.
Hi Syliva....I can't remember the last time I was here to say Hello, admire your photography and leave a comment. It's been way to long...I know that. First let me say that your shadow shots are fantastic as always...especially like the Trivet Shadow and the Raising of the Glass....very dexterious to balance the glass with one hand and shoot with the other!
I've been back in OUR HOMETOWN quite alot during January. My brother and I moved our Mom and Sister back there from Midland. It was quite a Big Deal with the weather being so cold, and having to set up her Double Wide in a new place. I'll be going there more often now that she is there, and I hope to take some photos of the New High School. Drove by there a few times and it really is looking nice. They kept the old gym and the auditorium and shere the rest of the HS was will now be a tree lined drive way and nice Front Entrance!
Hope you are staying warm with the extreme weather...I bet you are used to it, though! Here in Texas we are sure a bunch of babies when it comes to the cold! We aren't use to having to kick a hole in the air to get outside! LOL!
See you again soon!
These warm photos delight me and warm my evening. Love those geese!
This has been such a cloudy rainy-snowy winter here in the South, so I know what you mean about it being hard to find shadows. Very clever shots you picked.
Wonderful array! The wrought iron one really grabs me-such a great shadow!
A wonderful selection of shadows.
A charming group of shadow shots. I love the civet shadow and all the others as well.
It is a little cooler here now and i hope you too are having a good weekend.
Beautiful shadow shots Sylvia!

Beautiful rhodedendrons, Sylvia. I do try to take photos of flowers with shadows on it for a more dramatic effect. It's hard though. You do such a beautiful job.
You clever girl - cheers! :)

Another beautiful collection of shadows Sylvia. The wrought iron shadow is beautiful.
I do not know what you call it, but I love the pattern of the "pot" or flower holder. Beautiful shadows!
