That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Join us and share your world with others from all over Our World! Just click on the post title, read the rules, sign up and play with us! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for?  It has been windy and really cold and even a little snow -- AGAIN! So, back to the files! Hope you all have a great week in Your World! And how about a little wit and wisdom to go with the beauty??

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.
Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
Anton Chekhov

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.

William James

He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.
Friedrich Nietzsche

Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you're alive, it isn't.

Richard Bach

Truman Capote

Life loves the liver of it.
Maya Angelou

Life must be lived as play.

And here is my favorite pissed off  sea gull!   His expression and huddled body looked just like me this morning!! But don't tell him I said that -- he'd be really pissed off then! Who wants to think they look like some shivering, old broad????

Lovely images as always, Sylvia and great quotes. I'm not too sure about the Chekhov, though. Thinking of the folks in Christchurch I think many will rise to the challenge they face and others will be overwhelmed. I recall the varied reactions of friends and family to the Northridge earthquake, some took events in stride and others were traumatized almost to the point of inaction.

I just love the sea gull!

The Richard Bach quote made me giggle. Ha! I guess my mission isn't finished. :)

The gull does look pissed off. Great shot. All of these photographs from your world are delightful. I love the quote about crisis and day to day life. That's been my experience. I do much better in a crisis than I do day to day.

It's such a cold day today, but your beautiful beach and flower photos made me feel cozy and warm. :)
Beautiful - thanks for sharing.

If the seagull looks like you in the morning, then you would look very cute to me !I love seagulls much to my English friends disgust, lol !

Great captures, Sylvia … some photos of warmer times bring back fond memories of spring that I thought was just around the corner, until this latest snowfall! I think the seagull might be huddled for warmth and in shock over what he hopes is the last blast of winter. I think he’s had enough. :)

Oh how I can relate to that Gull! LOL! Lovely images as always :)

Sucked in and giggling like an idiot, oops, sorry Anton! Your quotes full of whizzdom and then the seagull crap! At least now I know what you look like!

Calm seas, sunshine and a nice bench to sit on, rhododendrons in full and glorious bloom . . . by your thumbnail you tricked me into believing you were really 'livin' the life' but no such luck, just a shiverin' ol' seagull!

If I strewed those rhododendron blossoms on th esnow for you, would if help to tide you over?

Fantastic series of photos. I love the pissed off sea gull and the moon. Thanks for sharing the quotes too.

In here, summer is just around the corner, the mercury started to rise again. Wish we could have some snow *wish*. Sure I will not be pissed off like the seagull hahaha.

Have a nice day Sylvia!

lovely collection again. what is being sold in that store?

Those are peppers at a store in Pike's Market. They display them like that and some people buy them just to decorate their kitchens. They are beautiful and very colorful! Thanks for stopping by, as always!

Spring is coming! Your pictures and quotes are perfect as always. (I can't believe you're quite as pissed off as that gull looks, even if you are good and sick of winter, for which I don't blame you one bit.)

Beautiful choices showing your world, Sylvia. I love all the colors in the market shot and the first shot with the benches and waves is wonderful.

Good juxtaposition, did I get that right, with the poor frozen gull. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

That seagull does look a bit miffed! Guess he wants to snow to go away! It's pretty much gone here. Last night's rain washed it all away!

Love your first quote here, very true indeed!

He has a right to be ticked! He's bare footed in the snow! Can you imagine?

Love your new header. She really outdid herself this time!!

I hope it's nothing worse than another gray day that's got you grumpy, Sylvia, but just remember the Bach quote! You have a profound range of quotes today, and the one that suits me well is Emerson as I embark on a new experiment in a few days! Fabulous series of photos... and a LOVELY new header!

Yogi♪♪♪ said...

Ah, you have been gifted with another header with a hammock, vino, a bride. Spring is in the air. I just know it.

I love the Ellis quote about life is knowing when to let go and and when to hang on.

I love the market photo with the peppers.

I hope everything is going well for you Sylvia.

SandyCarlson said...

Great images and quotes. I love the first two and will take them to work. Those peppers warmed my night.

stardust said...

Among all the nice photos, I especially like the photos of a deserted beach of off-season and the sea gull in the last. I think I remember the punchy colors of peppers when they were zoomed in. Now I understand how they were hang at the shop. (If they are the same peppers.)

Those hangings and flowers are so pretty. Thanks for sharing those wise words. They're enriching.

I do think that the gull looks less than happy!
Must be all the people calling it a "seagull" when really its just a "gull"!

Another good set of pictures to start the week.

What a great and varied shot selection, Sylvia. All are wonderful! Very cool new header, by the way.

what a sad looking young gull. :( Like me it seems tired of the snow.

I personally think there's nothing wrong with looking like an old broad, shivering or otherwise. To prove it, I look like that everyday.

By the way, do you have red snow boots like your feathered friend's?

Mark Kreider said...

You sea gull comments had me laughing out loud! I really like the whimsy of the moon caught in a tree's branches!
