Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up. It's been gray, windy, rainy and so it was back to my files! And as far as words to share -- well, I had a serious need for some laughter!!
Read Winter as nature's way of saying, "Up yours."
Robert Byrne

Yep, I can believe that!!

I'm an idealist. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.
Carl Sandburg

I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time.
Charles M. Schulz

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
Harry S. Truman

It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.
Harry S. Truman

Liberty doesn't work as well in practice as it does in speeches.

These are all great photos, as always, Sylvia. My favorite one is the firstone--I like the three horizontal sections--sky, river and fishing boats. Nice composition! Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Love the Byrne quote! :)
Wonderful shots you have found to share!
I had to look twice at the first one and then it dawned on me it was boats - wow. I wonder if I could borrow just one.
The next to the last sky shot is my favorite - a warm and lovely glow.
Hope your weekend is filled with beautiful skies.

As usual, nice skies and a good collection of quotes. My pick is the Will Rogers quote; liberty is a messy business and carries a lot of responsibilities.

You always manage to showcase the very best skies of Seattle. Have a lovely day.

Sylvia, what a totally superb looking harbor scene. It should be framed, just that good!

I must confess my SkyWatch entry got messed up this week, as I was finally able to change the appearance of my blog and it was quite a difficult change over, so the little Nuthatch will have to suffice for this week.

Have a great weekend~ Mary

How true: liberty is well overrated. Try enjoying your freedom whilst your children are dying of starvation...But looking on the bright side...Wonderful set of photos here, Sylvia! You really captured the air of spring even though it still feels like winter. Have a good weekend!

brilliant captures all!

Lotusleaf, the first shot was taken at the harbor on the Sound, it's about a five minute drive from where I live and one of my favorite places to go. This was taken a couple of weeks ago on a really beautiful, cold day. Glad you enjoyed the pics for the day!!

Oh, golly gosh, I must be getting old, it is hard to concentrate on your pictures and concentrate on your well picked quotes.
I have to resort to the stratagem of absorbing the quotes as a first course and viewing your splendid pictures for dessert. The first shot got me right in the orchestra pit since it looks so much like something that it is not.
The boats in the marina huddled all together are like frosted furrows in a field turned by a master ploughman. A really amazing shot.

I once saw something similar while flying over Sydney harbour, there were multitudes of yachts out that day and the sea saw blue and in one of the large coves the white yachts were dotted on the water like sheep in a field.

Allusions can be wonderful that way.

Enjoy every step of every day my friend.

My joints are seizing up with the cold blasts from the Antarctic, must away for a walk to get them moving again.

Oops, forgot to mention your pussy willows, if they are out, spring in all its glory is not far behind.

Love that first pic especially, postcard perfect. Have a blessed weekend, Sylvia!

Great skies as always, no, better today. I also like that you started to frame the shots.
And, when I am up to that. I hope you don´t mind me saying that. Now when you learn to handle the photo manipulating program, why don´t you learn to tilt them as well? When the horizon is right your shots are excellent. :)

Beautiful photographs and more from your never expiring fountain of quotes. I love the one from Sandburg about how much you can accomplish when you don't care who gets the credit. It takes people years to figure that out.

Have a great day Sylvia!!

so much beauty to be found here as always Sylvia:-)

Gorgeous skies and some wry quotes today. Actually that Carl Sandberg one about being an idealist really makes me smile; it kind of describes me -- I know how I feel, but I don't do much about getting anywhere with it.

The pussy willow picture is wonderful and makes me homesick for the Pacific Northwest. No early spring flowers here in FL>
