That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Join us and share your world with others from all over Our World! Just click on the post title, read the rules, sign up and play with us! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for?

On Wednesday I'll be making a trip to the Seattle Waterfront and hope to get some good pics of another part of my world, but the weekend has been gray and rainy so I'm going to share a few more pics from my trip last week to Bellevue. As I mentioned before, I was amazed not only at the beauty of the park where we were, but the numerous skyscrapers! Before moving here I lived in a part of Seattle known as Ballard and while it's close to the water and lovely, the area itself looks like a neighborhood out of the 50s! So, Bellevue was quite a surprise!

Ninety eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hardworking, honest Americans. It's the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then, we elected them.
Lily Tomlin
If 'pro' is the opposite of 'con' what is the opposite of 'progress'?

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

Bureaucracy gives birth to itself and then expects maternity benefits.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

Absolutely well said. Especially I liked the pros and con - one. Sylvia, long time I was away. Probably, didn't manage my time well. I have told myself I will post once in three days. I hope I live to my declaration.

The real beauty is the most important thing in this world, radiates beauty in the landscape, in what is seen and the other part of the beauty lies in eyes with that look.
Greetings .-

The last quote about character and power is very true, Sylvia! Nice to view the park again and hope to see much more of it in the future. I love your header … it is delightfully busy and the stick characters seem so filled with life and purpose. :)

Great photos Sylvia! I like the "far and close" - skyscrapes in the distant and the beautiful flowering trees near.
Best wishes!

All the photos of cityscape are fabulous and all the quotes are so true. I really heartily agree with Lily Tomlin to think of my country's political world. Opposite of “progress” is congress according to Paul Harvey... smart and funny. I really enjoyed this post, thank you, Sylvia.

I get murder instincts for the man who has invented skyscrapers !! they spoil the landscape everywhere. Except in Chicago there were beautiful olf skyscrapers with golden ornaments.
The park looks pretty. photoshop the skyscrapers away, lol !

I am liking your new world too! The Northwest certainly has lots of beauty. Years ago, Mom and Dad visited the area. They went out on the Olympic Peninsula to have lunch with a childhood friend of Dad's who retired there. And they stayed a week. Mom said it was the most beautiful place she had been.

Paul Harvey's quote is especially apt these days!

Hi there - looks like a nice place for a walk, although I like the tree more than the tower blocks! Cheers - Stewart M - Australia
