Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Click on the web address under the blog title and sign up to play with us!  I was so excited about our bus trip this week to the Seattle Waterfront and was hoping for some really great reflection shots! So, what happened?? It rained the entire time we were there! But I got a couple of shots anyway.  The first one shows you how gray it was!  And then while I was waiting for the bus to come get us, I saw these reflections in the building across the street, not particularly stunning -- but????
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
William James
I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.
Ken Venturi
Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels.
Bertolt Brecht

And these guys seem to know that!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

As seen from your first lovely shot, one remembers that beautiful photos are often made in inclement weather... Love the ducks with the "right idea" on life!

Enjoy your weekend, Sylvia!

I like your first photo very much, even if it wasn't the sunny reflections you hoped you would see. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

We must have been on the Seattle waterfront at the same time this week, Sylvia, as it rained when we were there too. You certainly get a lot of rain there! Anyway, nice photos - the classic grey Seattle skyline is always welcome.

I love those little ducks, Sylvia ~ and the quote "Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels."
... is perfect for the times ~
For all times, actually!
It reminds me of this verse,
""The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:20,21.

I love these reminders that JOY is within us*
Have a lovely weekend, Sylvia

Even if a grey day doesn't give the same reflection effects as sunlight they have their own "mood"

I know well how disappointing it is when you don't get the shot you imagined, but Sylvia, that's a lovely moody shot of the port!

Hi Sylvia! At last I can comment on your arghhhh photos that make me want to jump on the first plane to Sea-Tac! :-) For some odd reason I couldn't yesterday, even the pop-up window wouldn't open...

I'm sure we'll get to meet someday! ;-)
