Summer has finally arrived in Seattle and I'm enjoying every day!! I spent the good part of an afternoon on the roof, enjoying the gardens and the view of the mountains, the blue skies and warm sun! So, all but one of pics for the day are of the colorful flowers that people have grown. The last shot I just happened to see as I got off the elevator one afternoon and I couldn't pass it up! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with lots of fun and laughter and all the good things!! Enjoy!! |
I will be gone for a part of the day and will be late getting to some of your blogs, but I'll get there!!

I like those metal plant holders! The oval shape and fluted skin of each barrel is stylish, a beautiful plant holder. A look of graceful living exists on the rooftop...
The interior view is also beautiful and stylish. Glad you are having plenty of sun up here!
These flowers are so beautiful, Sylvia. I love it.
the roof gardens are so cool, but i love that last shot! :)
Beautiful shadow shots...love the B&W shadow shot and the flowers are stunning. Happy SSS!
Lovely shots! The Dahlia is awesome.
ooh, that last one is gorgeous!!! I love that they provide those planters on the rooftop for people to grow flowers. those planters remind me of water tanks for cattle, we used to have some just like that on the farm when I was growing up. they work very well for rooftop gardens! happy SSS to you Sylvia. I hope you have a fun weekend with summer finally arriving in the NW!
I love the metal planters! Lovely collection of shadow shots!!
Beautiful shots, Sylvia. When the weather is nice, Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited, so I hope you're enjoying it!
Hey Sylvia, I love the planters where you live. The best of both worlds. People who like to plant, can plant, and those who just like to look and admire and do that also.
Glad you got some sunshine. Logan and I went out geocaching to celebrate the first ever international geocaching day. It was 109!! So we decided one was enough.
The roof garden is so cool and I like how the sun hits the flowers.
I love the flowers and the quotes are well-chosen! Happy weekend, Sylvia! :)
Such a glorious array of flowers! Beautiful! And the final contrasting shadow photo is a delight!
Beautiful shots & quotes..! What a way to start the sundsy..!
Ooh I love that last photo!Of course I like all flower photos though.
That big yellow dahlia is gorgeous, Sylvia--not too yellow, not too pale, but just right!
IF I HAD A SHADOW
If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:
My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;
My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east
Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;
My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.
I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

I LOVE the lemon yellow ones!
how lovely that everyone has flowers to tend and share
the last shot is absolutely beautiful
the kind of beautiful that brings a tear to my eye
it's wonderful Sylvia
The flower pots in the first photo are wonderful, Sylvia.
Your beautiful flower shots and your quotes really did touch the old heart tonight. That first quote I love. The way flowers bloom out there is like a miracle of nature to me. We did not get out to see Ridge and his family on Baimbridge because of Bud’s big hike, but next summer we have to go. They now have a new home with LOTS of room for us. I just adore it out there. genie
What a pretty view...how you must enjoy seeing that while taking in the beautiful seattle sky! Wishing you a wonderful weekend Sylvia!
So true! A little kindness goes a long way!
Hope you're having a great expedition!
Lovely, lovely flowers!
Excellent flowers with spectacular colors, lights and shadows beautiful photos. Saludos.
Hi Sylvia,
I have enjoyed all of your pictures. I still want to go and buy several of those watering troughs for my raised bed garden that I've been carrying around in my head.
I love the first photo with the tiny, light shadow reflection off the flower onto the trough. Too pretty. I'm glad that you guys have that space to enjoy on your roof.
I had to laugh at the band name, The Pacific Pixels! What a great header this week. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit yesterday.
Have a wonderful week,
Kathy M.
I love your galvanized tub planters! That last shot is wonderful, too!
Your pup looks very nice after his grooming. I had a schnauzer years ago that I clipped myself. He wasn't a fan of the process, but always looked so handsome when I finished!
Fabulous tub planters ans gorgeous flowers... and you final b+w shadow shot is wonderful, Sylvia.
All the warmth of late summer here! Thank you.
Love the trough planters and the flowers, my flower gardens are nearly gone from the drought, they got huge this spring from all the rain, so it was really a struggle to keep the large flowers going...they and I succumbed, but I'm still watering the veggies, but I was so looking forward to flowers after that long winter, now it's nearly here again...sigh...btw, I love Sam's new do, there is nuthin cuter than a newly clipped schnauzer...right Sam!!!
Have a great week Sylvia!!!
