Ah, the holidays approach!  And as I was looking around my world for the things that I am thankful for, I did find a variety of things! A glorious mountain overlooking the city, my very favorite tea room, my favorite chair, my best friend, Sam and the fun of preparing for Thanksgiving and a holiday visit with two of my favorite people -- my son, Adam and his fiancee, Amber!

I do hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of love and laughter and, of course, great food!!
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.   Thornton Wilder

An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day. Irv Kupcinet
Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.

You can tell you ate too much for Thanksgiving when you have to let your bathrobe out.  Jay Leno

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving week, Sylvia. That sunset photo of the Mountain is spectacular, and Sam poking his nose out from underneath that plant is too cute.

The window welcomes in such a lovely light on the chair, Sylvia. It reminds me that the comforts of home are certainly something to be thankful for every day. :)

Lovely images of your favorite things. Does Sam get Thanksgiving dinner or is he a "no human food" dog?
Have a wonderful visit with your son and DIL to be. We will have a quiet day with son Mark. This is the year for Michael's family to spend the day with his mother's folks, they will be with us for Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving, Sylvia. I am rather jealous of this holiday (which we don;t celebrate here in Australia), as I believe it is a truly wonderful one allowing us to give thanks for all that providence has generously provided us with.
You have a lovely series of photos here and I really like the quotes you accompany them with.

I have just started a Floral Friday Fotos meme. Hope you can join!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company.
