Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by  the Sky Watch team of  Sandy, Wren and me. And this week as every week, we remember Klaus and know that he joins us in spirit! Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the address under the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up
The temps are lower, the rain is back, the skies are gray, but I can remember a few weeks back thanks to my camera and we did have beautiful skies and they will return -- some day!  Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm, stay dry and keep smiling!!

Autumn's the mellow time.
William Allingham

The poetry of the earth is never dead.
John Keats

Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels.
Bertolt Brecht

But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?
Albert Camus

What I can't get over Sylvia is how the weather changes so very quickly, almost from one week to the next! To think you took these fabulous skies such a short while ago and now it's all grey. The wonder of photography, to keep forever!

Incredible shots. But you almost always get great shots. I think the sky knows that you are it's official photographer...sort of like a presidential photographer. I'm sometimes amazed that you don't trip on things more often since your eyes are always up. And a good place for eyes to be, I might add.

What gorgeous skies - that last one is very uplifting.

Here's hoping you have a sunny weekend!

Sylvia I am partial to the red skies but in this lot I like the white one the most due to the composition!

The cloudy skies extend down to Northern California. I am hoping for a little rain to clean the smoke from burning of rice fields out of the air.

Dear Sylvia,

I don't know if you remember me but I used to write the Not a Science geek blog. I did stop about a year ago and, I am ashamed to say, I didn't bother to keep up with you all.

Hope to stay in touch from now on!

You capture the best PNW sunsets, Sylvia. And the quotes make it all the better.

Lovely glowing skies! But I especially love the silhouetted beams crossing over the second image! Quite dramatic! And your header of the camera in your eye is just brilliant!

All of your shots this week are beautiful, but that last one is an absolute knock out. Love the oranges. They make for those one in a million skies. genie

Oh, my! the last shot is so mesmerizing! Just so wonderful to see the different shades of skies!

The last of your beautiful skies had my eyes pop, Sylvia! I'd say gray skies make us appreciate the colorful ones even more. I couldn't agree more with Camus: But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads? It's just getting harder to live a *simple* life. :-)

I love that first quote - 'autumn is mellow' - a great time to unwind from all the summer activity and relax before old man winter makes his entrance. :)
Lovely skies as always Sylvia but that last one is truly breathtaking!
LOVE the header - very creatively done!

Meanwhile, enjoy the quiet time.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company.
