Evening, Wisdom and Beauty and a Request

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them,
but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow
where they lead.

I learned tonight that my youngest daughter has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I would so appreciate your prayers and good thoughts for her and my family. It's been a difficult new year for us.
If you have made mistakes...there is always another chance for you...you may
have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure"
is not the falling down, but the staying down.

Oh Sylvia -- I am winging my good thoughts to you and your daughter. So many times your beautiful pictures and quotes have lifted my mood -- I hope I can return some of the Karma.

And I know for sure that diagnosis doesn't mean what it used to -- and I am sure she will come through it well (betting that she inherits her mother's positive attitude and fighting spirit!)

I have had a few days away from blogs and am catching up tonight. So sorry to read of this. Best wishes to your family as they deal with this health concern.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
