Our World!!!

Time for "Our World" again! This is a wonderful way to find the beauty, the fun, the good and even the bad things about Our World and to share them! Hope you will join us! Click on the link  to go to the Our World site and sign up!!

Over  the past few days I’ve shared some photos from a wonderful exhibition here in Seattle and today I would like to share some more of the really awesome ones that I’m delighted to have as a part of “my world” today!  The Chihuly Garden and Glass is an exhibition that explores the inspiration and influences of Northwest artist, Dale Chihuly. He has pioneered new techniques in art and influenced generations of artists. His creativity and generosity of spirit are easily seen in the beauty of his work. This is a longer post than I usually have, but it was such a special place!! I hope you enjoy the few I’m sharing with you today from “my world”!!
Nature teaches more than she preaches. There are no sermons in stones. It is easier to get a spark out of a stone than a moral.
John Burroughs

You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.
Henry Ford

Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart.

Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you.
Aldous Huxley

The world hates change, yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.

Frederick Douglass

All of us failed to match our dreams of perfection. So I rate us on the basis of our splendid failure to do the impossible.
William Faulkner

Wishing all of you a beautiful and happy week!

What a fabulous set of pictures. Love all that delicate glasswork, especially the glass flamingos in the gardens.

His art is so distinctive and amazing, nice shots. I saw some of his work in Bellevue, I think it was in the Microsoft building.

Thanks for your thoughts. I can't go to the office today as it's in the evacuation zone. But our house is safe from this fire, it's on the other side of town. It's so dry here, all it would take is an idiot tossing a cigarette out of his car...

The Chihuly museum was closed when we went to it. We were so disappointed. Now that I've seen your gorgeous photos, I'm even more disappointed. Sigh.

That glassware is remarkable!

It was really rather cold when I took the images on my post - and the frost stayed in the shadows all day. We never get days like that here where I live now!

I am traveling, and I need your advice, How to adapt from the middle of winter to a hot tropical island. I am here at 3 .15 am reading your blog. and this is the third morning.

I am hibernating, not wanting to go out. Took some flower photos and birds in a cage, luckily, I am staying in my sister's place and don't have to pay for accommodation

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
