One of the things I have loved most about my world here in Seattle was being near the water. When I first moved here I lived with my son in Ballard, a small suburb of Seattle, and I was only minutes away from Puget Sound. Once I got into photography I spent many hours there taking pictures and drinking in the beauty. That part of Seattle I'm going to miss!! So, today I will share some of that beauty with you! Enjoy!

All my life through, the new sights of Nature made me rejoice like a child.
Marie Curie

Trees are the earth's endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.
Rabindranath Tagore

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
Kahlil Gibran

The poetry of the earth is never dead.
John Keats

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
Lao Tzu

Great things are done when men and mountains meet.
This is not done by jostling in the street.

William Blake

You certainly have a wealth of wonderful photos to remind you of your favorite haunts, Sylvia. I also like the saying about nature and not being in a hurry … it is something worth pondering as being in a hurry seems to be a habit in modern life. :)

Hi Ms. S, wherever you go, I am sure there will be as equal of a beauty in your new world!

Those clouds look like there is precipitation soon!

Good luck and take care!

It is a nice series of photos, Sylvia. When you get to Portland, you will find equally interesting places to aim your camera at.

A beautiful series of photos. I can see why you would want to spend so many hours by the water - you have captured so many different moods there.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
