We live in northern MN, where we have plenty of bears in the woods beyond our backyard, and we have to be careful all summer about setting our garbage can outside, as they have come and made a mess of it.
But our second home - a tiny cabin - is in northern Ontario. Every trip to the cabin, we drop our waste off at the "municipal dump" on the way out.. and we are guaranteed to see bears! Eagles & ravens are thick, too.
This bear on the couch is hilarious!

OMG, you couldn't have written a better script! It must be your charisma that causes things to happen when you are there to witness it. I am laughing out loud! Great post, Sylvia ...

Funny photos, that bear knows how to make itself comfortable. I hope you're having a great week, give Sam a little walk if the weather's nice and a treat if it's not!

That is too funny! He's looking mighty comfortable there. Did he bring a bag of garbage up there with him?

Omigod! How'd I miss this? Fantastic group of photos. It's almost more than I can bear!

You know, I think you'd like The Villages...you could dance every night of the year at one of the three downtowns, you could sit on the boardwalk on Lake Sumter Landing and watch all the people, birds, alligators, fishies, etc.

You could shop - myriads of shops. You could go to musical products, plays, classes, seances, and any number of other things.

And it's pretty nice and warm most of the year!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
