By mid-April last year things were really beginning to bloom and colorful plants, trees and flowers were everywhere including the terrace here at the complex where I've lived for the past several years -- I will miss this and the roof when I move back to Portland!!! Ah, the good and the bad of moves!!!

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

Moving house definitely causes mixed feelings, even when you know its for the best reason...I know what it feels like.

I also know that you will find beauty wherever you go! Because that's what you do! Thanks for seeing it and sharing it.

I am afraid I spent my life making many mistakes, though not on purpose.
So thank you for these comforting words of G.B.Shaw!
Have a great day, tomorrow, Sylvia!

Beautiful as it is in your current neck of the woods, I think once you move to Portland and unpack your camera, you will not miss a thing. And should you want to look back you have so many wonderful pictures to help you remember.

What a beautiful array of flowers. I know moving away from that beauty must be hard although with the move comes other beautiful opportunities. .

Love your collage, Sylvia. Makes me yearn for spring flowers here --but winter is not quite finished with us.

I love your collage of blooms and your inspiring message from GBS. We can always learn from our mistakes, but to sit idle is just not living.

That is a beautiful rooftop garden there. They don't have anybody there that will appreciate it as much as you do!

Oh, what a lovely collage and a reminder that spring will come, even though it's very delayed this year.

I wish you the "pink" of health like your flowers and the best of luck for your new State. The Oregon Coast is on my bucket list!

What a pity we can't have it all, all the time. When I am in Australia, I miss Europe and N.America, when I am in the Northern Hemisphere, I miss Australia and even here, when I am on the farm I miss our house on the mountain and vice versa. Although where we are may be perfect, we will always mis somewhere else and be reminded of it by ascent in the air or just the tang of the breeze. Wherever life takes us, there are always compensations.
Some sort of move seems to be beckoning me too, I just don't see clearly yet what and whereto.

Chin up and good luck!

Moving is always full of stress, anticipation and worry. But it normally seems to work out OK!

One of the other ways you could tell that my seals were bachelors is that the place smelt very bad!!

I can understand why you'd miss all of this beauty but I would guess that Seattle will have much of the same to offer, also.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
