A very large part of my world for the past eleven years has been Sam Schnauzer.  As most of you know, he was injured by another dog late last week. He's not made the improvement we hoped for and I'm not sure what is going to happen. Please hold good thoughts for Sam and I.

I should imagine Sam was quite traumatised Sylvia, it was so unexpected. There are so many healing vibes coming from here he just has to recover, give him a big hug from me.

Just leaving a dog locked in a car is enough to make him crabby and may give you some insight to why the dog is vicious, if the rest of his homelife is so inconsiderate. That said, it is awful what happened to Sam and there is no excuse for it. I don't know if you follow Currie Silver, but she just went through a similar, very serious incident and is still trying to recover. My Izzi was on antianxiety pills all last summer because we had new neighbors move in with two dogs that they just let out the door to do their thing in our yard. They also bullied Izzi (pack mentality) when we were out there. Things have settled down a bit, but Izzi's nonaggresive personality has ramped up and she now no longer tolerates any dog getting in her face. I feel bad for her ... she feels like she has to protect herself from any dog that she doesn't know and she was never like that before. People who have dogs should be held responsible for their actions. I know Sam will be okay, but he will need some extra lovin' for awhile ... Izzi commisorates and sends her lovin' to Sam. Be well Sylvia ...
