http://ourworldtuesdaymeme.blogspot.com/ Except for the flowers, it surely didn't look like a spring day, but that's the northwest for you!! It was still a fun day seeing skyscrapers on one side and boats in the harbor across the street!! And then there were those busy, busy seagulls! |

Beautiful, rainy shots!
Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear about Sam Schnauzer. Life has changed for you but the sweet memories will remain.
That little pot of flowers is a bright spot!
I'm really sorry to hear about Sam. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
There is a silvery glint to the water even on a gray day.
Sylvia, I am so sorry to read about Sam. I know he will be dearly missed. The Sun will come out tomorrow, like the song says. The flowers are lovely. Thanks for sharing, wishing you a great week!
A great series of photos and I really like that quote about salt water!
i like the grays - rather somber and comforting, too.
It does look gloomy and wet. But I really like days like this for exploring.
Loosing own dog is hard - it is something what people without owning the dog can not always understand.
Our second dog is now almost 12 years old and it is already to difficult to prepare ourselves loosing her.
Grey rainy days are peaceful home days and after them the dear sun will come :)
a wonderful tribute to Sam. lovely collage.
Your banner tribute to Sam is very sweet, Sylvia.
Somehow grey is still beautiful in your part of the world, Sylvia. We're expecting snow again this week! I'm still thinking of you and Sam.
A lovely cheerful collage!
I like that quote by Isak Dinesen and your photos capture it well ;-) Happy Tuesday!
We had a lovely spring day. I send it your way.
Cheers from Cottage Country!
Great shots. Love the flowers, and I love the quote.
'Tis true that salt water can be beneficial in many ways. Love your shots of the big city and I love boats and water!
We first visited The Village when we still lived in Fort Lauderdale (which is about 275 miles south). That was 2003, I think. At that time there was just one "downtown" called Spanish Springs. Since then, the place has boomed with the addition of many thousands of homes (a thousand a week at times!) and two more downtowns, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood.
We live in Ocala which is about 40 miles north of Lake Sumter Landing. We moved her 8 1/2 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale. We bought a house on the east side and then three years ago moved to a Del Webb 55+ community called Stone Creek. But we found that stifling and our twin home was too small when the kids came to visit so about three months ago we bought a house on the SW side of Ocala. Our twin home/villa is up for sale if you know anyone moving this way!
We like Ocala because it's still a small town compared to Orlando or Tampa or Miami or Jacksonville. And we do get something of a change of seasons here, although seldom does the temp drop below freezing.
There are a lot of "snowbirds" in the area also. They buy or rent a home here and then come down here during the winters when it's cold and wintry up north where they live most of the year.
You can see more of Stone Creek on our Stone Creek blog...in fact, if you go back far enough, you can see a photo or two of our twin home.
Beautiful set of images.
Looks very much like our weather at the moment... I do like the sound of the sea and the birds though.
Lovely words and pictures! It rained here in India too! Very refreshing.
Too true, Sylvia. There is a ribbon of silvery glint in every image you posted. Healing for the hurt. I love the quote by Izak Dinesen. Warm greetings to you from Tanzania. Jo
Sometimes one has to cry out to feel better.
