To All the Wonderful Followers of Our World!

I've been unable to get out with the camera to get photos of My World this week and I will miss participating and hope to join in again soon. In the meantime I'm sharing some wise words with you! Wishing all of you a wonderful week with lots of joy and laughter and beautiful places and things to photograph!!

  Law of  the Garbage Truck
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!
The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.
So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so ...  Love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't .

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a garbage-free day!

It really depends on which side of the bed you got up on I think Sylvia. Most times it's easy to let things go over the top and not react, but then there are other times kabooom :))))but mostly not haha!

Hi Sylvia,Lately I have had the same problem of rustling up a post. I seem to be mainly stuck on the farm . I'd like to get out more but with the dog it is difficult to find anywhere to stay the night and here to get anywhere, it is a day's drive!
Thanks for the little story, I always do my best to keep my cool when driving, anger is not a useful emotion.
Enjoy your week.

Adore the idea of negative emotions being garbage! A terrific story!
Love Arija's added comment that anger is not a useful emotion! Hope your week smiles with sunshine.

This is so beautiful, Sylvia. We need to always hold this lesson in our hearts and structure our day to act accordingly. I'll try. Thank you.

Hi Sylvia, I've read that Garbage Truck writing before --but it is good to read over and over... We do need to remember that it's all about our attitude toward life....

Hope you are doing well in your new home.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sylvia, I love this wisdom and, you know what? I don't see why you couldn't have linked this (or any one of your quiet moment posts) to "Our World". Because every one of us would love to have your joy of life as part of our world!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
