Sunday Smiles -- Well, Belly Laugh This Sunday!!

My neighbor was working in his yard when he was startled by a late model
car that came crashing through his hedge and ended up in his front lawn.

He rushed to help an elderly lady driver out of the car and sat her down
on a lawn chair. He said with excitement, "you appear quite elderly to be
driving."
"Well, yes, I am," she replied proudly. "I'll be 97 next month, and I am
now old enough that I don't even need a driver's license anymore.
The last time I went to my doctor, he examined me and asked if I had a
driver's license. I told him yes and handed it to him. He took scissors
out of the drawer, cut the license into pieces, and threw them in the
waste basket, saying, 'You won't need this anymore,' so I thanked him
and left!"

Hah, I know some people that should have their licenses shredded.

I have seen people like that woman who should not be driving at all and I try to stay as far away from them as possible.

It's that old poop brain that causes these kinds of problems ... I'm telling you, it's not to be trusted. I hope someone tells her before she does herself in ... at 97 she still has a lot of life to live :)

Funny story and great pic of the kid!

Re your comment: The pic in question was taken last week. We went down to Lake Sumter Landing yesterday afternoon and walked around a bit but then the rain came down in beeg buckets so we high-tailed it for home!

Yep, we have quite a few of those in the country town where we live in South Africa. Hope you're having a great day, Sylvia.

Sounds like some drivers where I live. I hope you're having a great weekend, Sylvia.

We should take everyone else's license away to give you and me more space on the road.

OMG is right, but it makes a great and funny story! A few months ago, I uttered to my youngest that I hope I have sense enough to quit driving when I should. He replied, "Don't worry, Mama, I'll tell you when!"

I got a chuckle out of this, but it also reminded me of the hard time we had convincing my then 97-year-old father that he shouldn't be driving. He'll be 101 on Thursday and still talks about getting a car.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
