Our World

Ah, the last days of summer!!  We still have green, leafy trees and beautiful roses, but autumn is on its way!! Time to enjoy the wonderful green beauty and the roses -- as always!!

Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile.
-- William Cullen Bryant

Youth is like spring, an over praised season more remarkable for biting winds than genial breezes. Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.
-- Samuel Butler

Surely autumn is not on its way yet. It is my favorite season but I am not ready for it because summer seems to have just arrived.

Your photos make me wish for autumn to come soon! It's still very hot here and very humid - much more so than usual because we've had a lot of rain. But it's still lovely and I can always come into the air-conditioned comfort of our home!

Thanks very much for your comment on L & L Photography! Hope you're doing well as the week begins...

Roses in Portland? You're right - we'd better enjoy summer as it's certainly winding down - it was 30 degrees when we were on top of Pikes Peak over the weekend. Have a wonderful week!

Oh My---those roses are gorgeous.. Our roses bloom nicely in Fall also--until the first frost.

Seems as if summer has flown by this year.. But--all seasons are flying now that I'm getting OLDER... ha

I'm a lover of Fall --so I say: "Bring it on!"

Hugs,
Betsy

Bonjour dear Sylvia! I'm always enchanted by the perfume and poetry that came with roses. They are my favourite flowers! I think Autumn came very soon this year, the weather is not good, rainy cold days in Luxembourg. I hope the weather is better there. :)

Hugs

Hi Sylvia ... wonderful rose captures ... their colour always seems to be deeper in the Autumn end of Summer.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
