I'd wear the striped or dotty top, but the other necklines would choke me! Great post, Sylvia. Have a lovely weekend. Jo

Re the "greasers" - I've got a pic of me in 1950...leather jacket, big hair with ducktail, Levis worn low, and black motorcycle boots. I wasn't a "greaser" but thought I looked pretty cool!

Hope you're cool as ever! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the look back. I think the women looked especially elegant way back then.

I was 10 years old in 1954 - I remember saddle shoes and my husband actually wore a bad boy style like those "greasers!"

Fantastic shots Sylvia! I remember passing notes in class. I also remember getting caught passing notes in class!

Thank you to remind us of the old days. I can remember them very well. Life was not perfect then either but the problems were not like ours now, or so it seems. Maybe there were just as many problems, but we didn't see them, for we had no tv. then. At that time American girls were dressed differently from the European girls . And even in Europe you could tell what nationality people had by the way they were dressed. Now there is hardly any difference in clothing. We all wear the same kind of clothes.

What a great look back - some classic shots there, although they're before my time ;) I hope you're having a great weekend, Sylvia - the dogs say yap!

This was fun Sylvia. I so remember passing notes in class and apparently at least one of my middle-age kids does too (how did they get that old?). His wife was wanting him to get on Facebook and he said that it reminded him of teen-aged girls passing notes in class. Ha ha.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
