Sky Watch!!

Welcome to Sky Watch!! Time to share and enjoy the beauty of our skies!! As I’ve written earlier, we are having amazingly beautiful, but hot weather here in Portland these days and nothing but clear, clear blue skies!! I’m not complaining, but let’s face it – all blue? No clouds? No colors? Beautiful but dull!! So, back to the files and some wonderful fluffy clouds for the day!!  Hope all of you are ready for a great weekend – regardless of the weather and skies!! Enjoy!!

Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it. ~Russel Baker

In summer, the song sings itself. ~William Carlos Williams

OH!~ I really like the Sam Keen quote. Isn't it delightful to feel lazy yet not feel guilty?

Hello Sylvia, enjoy your great weather, it is much better than rain right? Your skies are beautiful, pretty white puffy clouds. Have a happy weekend!

Pretty rolls of cloud shapes. The second photo looks like mountains on the move.

Exactly the type of cloudscape I would associate with summer.

Beautiful photos, Sylvia - I can't believe how hot it is in your part of the world. Summer never seems to make me suffer, but I've never lived anywhere really hot. Have a great weekend!

I dunno, Sylvia ... it's been raining here day and night (almost) for a couple of weeks I don't think it's going to let up for awhile. Is that like Portland?

Thank you for this post. I am such a fan of William Carlos Williams and his simple words that get lodged in your mind. I have never EVER seen a plum without thinking of "This is Just to Say" which I probably first read in high school over 50 years ago:

This is Just to Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Wonderful sky shots, Sylvia, they are all much more interesting then clear blue sky. But for the rest some clear blue skies would be welcome here too after a very wet and stormy week.
I hope you'll have a great weekend!

It is so true ... Plain blue sky makes almost as boring a picture as plain gray. We need those clouds ))). And some slightly cooler weather, I totally agree. With archives like yours though, you always have something wonderful to make us smile! Thanks for that and for hosting, as always!

My favorite is the first one. I love the soft colors behind that dark cloud :)
