The Art of Balancing Rocks!!

Balancing Rocks.. by Michael Grab
I don’t know if you have ever watched the guy down by
Stanley Park (Vancouver, B.C.) but it
really is amazing watching him stack
rocks, some pretty big, that just seems to defy gravity.
Zen and the art of rock stacking!  All I know is if I were
to try it, all I would get for my efforts are scraped shins
and busted toes.
I must say Michael is even better than the Stanley Park guy.
He’s also from B.C.  The vertical ones you can possibly write
off as a balancing  act but how he does the arches truly does
defy gravity!  Pretty cool!
This is so hard to believe; so impressive.  How does he do it?
Not even a drop of Crazy Glue!!

These creations put the hoodoos my family creates in the creek in front of the house to shame. Wait until I tell them they have to do better...hahaha. These are absolutely amazing. They defy gravity.

I have seen this art-form done in OZ and in Scotland... it is just stunning and the stillness of the artists, I am certain, has much to do with it. Meditation given expression! YAM xx

I see you comment on many of the same blogs as I do so I thought I would pop over and say hello. This rock balancing is amazing.

These are great. You should have a look at some of the work of a Scottish sculpture called Andy Goldsworthy - he does stuff like this too - but I think he has been doing to for a long time.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
