Our World!!

A new week and a new look at Our Worlds!!
The holidays are over – the fun, maybe, but not the bad weather in the Northwest!!  It’s been cold, wet, snowy, but just when everyone is ready to pack up and move, the blue, blue skies return along with mild temperatures!!!  Just kidding, said the Weather Lord!!!
I do hope all of have enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with friends, family, loved ones and the good times will return and probably sooner than expected!!  So, today I’m sharing some of my lovely northwest world – regardless of the weather!! And, I wish all of you a great new week!!

The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live.
-- Elbert Hubbard

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.
-- Mark Twain

You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.

Ah, the “weather Lord” is quite unpredictable as always! “The more things you love,” said Ethel Barrymore, “the more things you are interested in.” Brilliantly true.

Winter trees are my favourite, here in Perth it's sometimes the only way we know it actually IS winter :) Mark Twain certainly had a way with words Sylvia. Hope your week is off to a good start.

You know I love your world! Wow, that quote from Mark Twain was a bit more serious than he usually was. Loved all three quotes and adored all the pictures. Have a good week Sylvia. Thank yoy as always!

Lovely photos, Sylvia. You may get the grey winter skies but I bet you never get the cold that stops me from taking the dogs for a walk for days at a time! Have a great week and the bored dogs give you a woof.

Boy, do I love those leafless trees against a blue sky. This one is a beauty. Your last shot is fascinating me. I am trying to figure out if there is some animal on it or if it is just some driftwood. Whatever it is the capture is very unusual and very pretty.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
