Little Humor for Wednesday!

And for all of you living with way too much heat these days -- be on the lookout!

And -- Big Holes!!!

 Great Blue   Hole ,   Belize

This  incredible geographical phenomenon known as a blue  hole is situated 60 miles off the mainland of
Belize . There  are numerous blue holes around the world, but  none as stunning as this one.

SHIT  HOLE,   Washington       D.C.

This hole swallows trillions and trillions of U.S. Dollars annually!  The money that falls into this hole is never heard from again.  It is reported to be filled with at least 535 'ass holes'.
And finally ........

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. he reduced altitude and spotted a man below.
He descended a bit more and shouted: 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago but I don't know where I am.'
The man below replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude.'

'You must be an Engineer,' said the balloonist.
'I am,' replied the man, 'how did you know?'
'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you have told me is probably technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information and the fact is, I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip by your talk.'
The man below responded, 'You must be in Management.'
'I am,' replied the balloonist, 'but how did you know?'
'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault.
Happy Wednesday!

That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Join us and share your world with others from all over Our World! Just click on the post title, read the rules, sign up and play with us! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for?

I had hoped to have photos of the Bellevue Art Festival this week, but our trip was delayed a week, so I've gone back to look at a couple other trips that were such fun. I'll have some new photos next week! And while I was working diligently at my desk the other day I looked up to see this young man sitting outside the window in front of my desk! He looked as if he was quite curious as to just what I was doing hour after hour!!  I reached for my camera, certain he would fly away before I could get a shot! But he surprised me by posing instead!!

Feeling a bit dull
in my old age,
I flew over
Paris,
Milan,
Cologne,
and even London
searching
for that perfect makeup....

And
I finally found it
in Mumbai,
where
they have
fairness creams.

In a moment
of
narcissistic madness,
I peered into
the Sky Mirror
and
slathered it on,
only
to have it
washed off
in a
thundering
Mumbai monsoon cloudburst.

Looks like nothing black
is turning fair,
and
everything
is supposed to be fair
only
if you are flying high.

As for me,
my full throated shouts
about the creme,
have rendered
my neck
arteries and veins visible,
and the
only thing
that has changed , are my eyebrows.

Black to white ?
Gosh,
the weight of people's expectations !
I can't even raise my eyebrows !

Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!!

It's actually been rather easy to find shadows this week as summer tiptoes shyly, reluctantly, slowly into the northwest! Believe me, I'm not complaining about our temps in light of the weather grilling the rest of the country!!  But the sun here has been lovely!  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend with lots of love and laughter and fun -- but stay cool!!

Some Humor for Wednesday!

Darned clever, these Canadians!
Perhaps
America and Europe & Australia should consider
changing their currencies too.
Due to the global war on terrorism, many terrorist organizations have had their finances frozen.  Consequently, they have resorted to counterfeiting.

The Canadians have decided to redesign their currency to prevent the radical
Muslims from even touching it!  It is also hoped that this will have a positive effect on tourism.
Muslim terrorists have to kill themselves if they see a naked woman. Those Canadians always
find the solution!  Must be the pure water up

I didn't get out a lot this past week except for a trip to good old Trader Joe for the weekly groceries! Most of the trips were to the casinos and I don't gamble. But I did want to share a couple more pics from the wonderful nursery we went to last week, a big part of my world -- son, David, here for a brief visit and Sam!! And, of course, our beautiful skies/sunsets.  Hope you all have a great week with lots of love and laughter and beauty!!

I had Mom take a really big picture, so you'll have to scroll over a bit to see it all! That's my new toy, Marvin Moose, on the floor beside me!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
