Sky Watch!
The first ten days I was in Portland it RAINED!!! and the skies were gray, gray, gray!! When we finally had some sunshine it was in the middle of the week, no way for me to get around other than around the back yard!! It was good to see the blue, but obviously no wide view!!

One Quiet Moment
A Giggle for the Day!
Satan Appeared
One Sunday morning, Satan appeared before a small town congregation. Everyone started screaming and running for the front church door, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away.
Soon, everyone was gone, except for an elderly gentleman who sat calmly. Satan walked up to the man and said, "Don't you know who I am?"
The man replied, "Yep, sure do."
Satan asked, "Aren't you going to run?"
"Nope, sure ain't," said the man.
Perturbed, Satan asked, "Why aren't you afraid of me?"
The man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for over 48 years."

Near My New Home!!!
This is one of the incredible places near Portland -- the Columbia River and where all of my family will be gathering in September!! Can you see why I'm excited!!
Things have gotten a little busier than I expected, so I probably won't be online until next month when the move is completed, but I'll try to visit and keep you posted!!
May you all have a wonderful couple of weeks with lovely weather, beautiful skies, surrounded by love ones and lots of laughter!!

One Quiet Moment
Tuesday Giggles and Grins!!
A man boarded a plane with Eight
kids.
After they got settled in their seats a woman sitting
across the aisle from him leaned over to him and asked,
After they got settled in their seats a woman sitting
across the aisle from him leaned over to him and asked,
"Are all of those kids yours?"
He replied, "No Ma'am, I work for a condom company. These are customer complaints."
And then there is this story!!
Tom's Scrotum
The best story of the year doesn't give the proper praise
and credit for this painful but understandable story as told by a loving
wife......
The pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like
to express praise for answered prayers.
Suzy Smith stood and walked to the podium. She said,
"I have a praise report. Two months ago, my husband, Tom had a
terrible bike accident and his scrotum was completely crushed. The
pain was excruciating and the doctors didn't know if they could help him."
You could hear a muffled gasp from the men in the
congregation as they imagined the pain that poor Tom must have
experienced.
"Tom was unable to hold me or the children,"
she went on, "and every move caused him terrible pain. We
prayed as the doctors performed a delicate operation, and it turned out they
were able to piece together the crushed remnants of Tom's scrotum, and
wrap wire around it to hold it in place."
Again, the men in the congregation squirmed uncomfortably
as they imagined the horrible surgery performed on Tom.
"Now", she announced in a quivering voice,
"thank the Lord, Tom is out of hospital and the doctors say that
with time his scrotum should recover completely."
All the men sighed with unified relief. The pastor
rose and tentatively asked if anyone else had something to say.
A
man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, "I'm
Tom Smith." The entire congregation held their breath.
"I just want to tell my wife the word is sternum."

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
