Honoring Those Who Serve

To all those who have served our country in the past, to those who are serving it now and to those who will serve in the future, and to their families for their sacrifices as well.-- thank you!

May we never forget the debt we owe you.

For yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Great post. We should always honor those who have served us so well in the past, present, and future.

and may we recognize those who grieve for the loss of their loved ones...

Both our sons served in this war. Our older son, Keith, has PTSD. He saw a buddy blown to bits right in front of his eyes and has not been able to get through it.

Our younger son has been deployed four times in five years. He's the one whose wife moved in with a boyfriend while he was gone to Afghanistan.

I only wish will be a day that no army and no guns will be needed and a world with no wars.

When I visit the big memorial places and graves here in Belgium I always become quiet

well said Syliva.

I second the wish that antigoni made - wishing for a day when war is just a word in books

I agree that the country needs to show some kind of gesture recognizing the sacrifice that people and their families make to join the military.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
