An eye for an eye, and the whole world would be blind.
Kahlil Gibran

When we turn to one another for counsel we reduce the number of our enemies.
Kahlil Gibran

Yesterday is but today's memory, and tomorrow is today's dream.

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

Very deep, the first one especially resonates.

I love Kahlil! The first about the blind world has always hit a chord with me. Oops! I see the others feel the same way.

I remember my dad buying me "The Prophet" when I was younger. I think I still have the copy somewhere around here.

We spent this last weekend with friends. And they gave of themselves and we are better for it. What a lovely post, thanks.

I love the wisdom of Kahlil. Unfortunately, as others have commented, the world loves an eye for an eye and generally can't see the forest for the trees, to throw in another adage.
Great photos to go with the words.

As always, lovely photos paired with lovely words. I like that first comment, too!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
