Shadow Shot Sunday!

Shadow Shot Sunday is delightfully hosted by Tracy at Hey Harriet and it's a great way to have fun with your camera -- well, actually it becomes more like an obsession, but I won't go into that right now! Just click here, sign up become obsessed like the rest of us!

I have a little of everything today. This first shot is in front of our house -- lovely natural tree shadows and high tech that invades everything these days. No, I'm not complaining -- I would have none of these toys without high tech! Just an observation!

This is a lamp post on the main street of the little town in Texas where my grandparents lived and where I spent my summers as a child. And, no, it didn't look exactly like this then -- it's been dressed up a a bit even though it isn't much larger than it was when I was little. They were having a street fair the day one of my cousins took this shot to send to me.

Last, but not least, my favorite color shadow along with a chair back -- I was rearranging furniture, had to stop and run get the camera.

Did you realize that al the shots you posted today were linear?
I love the inclusion of the glass in the shadow. Appeals to my muse, indeed!
Happy SSS!

Color shadows! Now there's an inspiration, but I always get inspired by your posts, Sylvia.

I'm going to concentrate for the next little while on the difference in light between your Pacific Northwest and my Southwest. And I'm going to start really, really looking at shadows because of you (just like Skywatch Friday has changed the way I look at the sky).

Thank you!

The utility pole shadow can represent anything. To me, the shape is one of a rocket lifting up into space and the bush shadow the fiery smoke trailing the rocket. The light looks impressive, the angle of the sun making the shadow less so. The third view looks almost like an Impressionists painting. Nice!

Enjoyed your site as usual and actually was most interested in the detail of the Texas town. I could still feel it was from different region. I could almost hear the accent.

This is what amazes me with our chasing of shadows, isn't it? They just come infront us unready. Lovely.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Fun variety of shadows as always. I love the way you created the last one, but they're all great. I shared Scenic Shadows at Happily Retired Gal but for some reason my WordPress ID doesn't work so I'm using my Blogger ID instead.
Hugs and blessings,

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
