Thoughts for the Evening

Where holding a grudge chains you to unhappiness, giving the gift of forgiveness sets you free. ~ Lee Jampolsky

Being happy has nothing to do with how much you have, and everything to do with how grateful you are for what you do have. ~ Lee Jampolsky

These are wonderful quotes, Sylvia. I definitely agree with the quote about grudges. It's to true. It often hurts the person holding the grudge more than the person who committed it.

Most people, by the time they get to be our age, know how true these two quotations are, Sylvia. Unfortunately, these truths have to be learned from experience, not just read, not just instructed, and not just from someone else's experience. Therefore, so many young people let grudges and/or greed dictate their thoughts and actions. Sad, but true.
Nevertheless, your photos are beautiful, and inspirational.
Thanks.

Lovely photos, and so true about forgiveness setting us free.
The grudge in the quote reminds me...
When my daughter was about 10, she asked, "Mom, have you ever held a grub?" I was grappling with that, wondering why she was asking about a worm-like critter, when she added, "You know, like when you get mad at somebody for a long time?" After a few seconds, I realized she meant "grudge."

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
