Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Our weather hasn't been particularly encouraging for any activity that requires sunlight, but I did catch one rather busy and interesting one in our breakfast room window -- obviously a favorite place of mine! There are not only the reflections in our window, but a reflection of a reflection in a new window to be installed in our neighbors house. Then a couple of old favorites that I hope you enjoy -- again!

I always really enjoy your skywatch photos but just wanted you to know that your
reflections are really neat too. Esp. the glass and the sunset. Ah.... Have a happy weekend.

Your photos are fantastic, the third is the one I like more, like a Monet painting.
Have a nice day Sylvia!

It is quite a set you show us here, once again... The first one is really my favourite : the reflection of the plant is so funny !

Well...you are very talented with your camera and your compositions, adorable set of pictures!

I love the duck on the log looking at her reflection, while the male swims nonchalantly around, not worrying whether his wife has her makeup on right or if she's getting wrinkles!
But that first photo takes reflections to a whole 'nother level, Sylvia, a reflection in your neighbor's uninstalled window. How cool is that? And how often does the opportunity arise? The glassware and plant reflect beautifully, especially the plant. And I see a chair, too, as well as the table.
Yep, reflections R U, Sylvia, without a doubt.

Love all those gorgeous glasses. I bet they look pretty when the sun catches them too. And I laughed at the ducks - I wonder what's going on between them?

I love all three of these photos, Sylvia. The first one certainly has a lot of reflections. The second one is simply gorgeous, as I've said before I love your sunset water shots as we don't have anything like that for hundreds of miles where I live. And the third one is like an impressionistic painting. I hope you have a great weekend, better than mine as I have to work (although I'm happy I still have a good job in this economy).

Hi Sylvia - lots of reflections in your post.

It's raining but we are going out today. It's my husband's birthday, and I've lined up a movie and dinner date :).

Have a nice weekend, Evelyn

Love the first one, Sylvia. Very impressionistic - somewhere in France, no doubt...

Ah, a blooming Christmas cactus! Not a CHRISTMAS cactus.

Both shots are beautiful, but that first one is a fantastically composed photograph. The water is lovely, too, but all of those reflection is the first shot are something else. Thanks for the comment on Abbott Lake. Buddy and I are always off hiking somewhere beautiful on the weekends.

Oh my gosh! All stunning. I like when you re-run old favorites, b/c your photos always teach me so much. The first one is a stunner. I guess that's a Christmas cactus?

George said...

I like the reflection from your breakfast room window, but all of the reflections are great.

Sylvia K said...

Hi Sallie, yes, it's supposed to be a Christmas Cactus, but it thinks it is a Thanksgiving Cactus because it always blooms in November. And then to further confuse things, it blooms sometime during the spring and summer, not as wildly as it does in November, but still lots of blossoms. It's an oddball and fits in perfectly here with me!! Thanks as always for your visit/comment! Always appreciated!

The reflection pool looks so much more cuter when you add couple of litle birdies in there.

Each reflection is beautiful in a delightfully different way. The reflection in the window is so pretty, I really like all the colored glass. I love the last one with the reflection distorted by the ripples on the water, these are my favorite type of reflections lately.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Judy
