MicroFiction Monday

Susan at Stony River Farm hosts Microfiction Monday. She posts a picture and you compose a story in 140 characters. You can click on the link under the title to get further instructions. To help you along she has posted a wonderful link that counts your characters for you! How great is that! You can get the counter at Design 215.

This meme is easy and it's fun! Thanks, Susan for hosting.

And here's the picture for the day!

One more Valentine's Party like all the rest. He was still the odd man out.
Wonder where that river went? Wherever, be better than here!

And from Mumbai!!  Drum roll, please!

Wonder how these four will react when they find out I am not George, but Linda, doing this as a challenge! Maybe I'll blog about it later!

Haha, I think they are all twittering about who is going to be first to go over and talk to the handsome guy!
:)

It does look like he is Odd Man Out. I'd be off to explore that river if I was him. They don't look like they are interested in him at all.

I think this time a lot of us are writing about the odd man out for the Valentine's Day MM! Poor guy. Good one, Sylvia. Hope you are keeping warm and enjoying life!

Good take Sylvia, the odd man out is always more interesting. The river probably has a number of other ladies sitting by the edge for this guy.

I bet he's wondering when he can interrupt those two in the foreground and get him to pass the wine!

Sandy, I'm with you, break open that bottle!

He is THIS close to joining the Royal Navy to see the world. But all he'll see is the sea.

Love it--the river played a role in my MM this week too, but in a slightly different way.
Have a great week ahead. Cheers~

Maybe he ought to rise and follow that river's path...I'd love to know where it leads to! :>

This makes me think of my daughter. Although she has a boyfriend, she HATES Valentine's Day, and was muttering darkly about it tonight.

The kids put on a fancy Valentine's Dinner fundraiser at church. It was really well done.

Maybe the river decided to change course. LOL

To Mumbai: I expect they won't like it

Excellent takes, both. Enjoyed them.

Both were enjoyable...I dare say Linda has the necessary tools for crashing into any bachelor party....
He is at the wrong end of the river i guess.

He should hurry down the river... who knows what or who he might find there... a damsel in distress or a frog princess.

Both stories are excellent, and so different. I enjoyed the read!

Oh, Sheila, those pastoral romantics--keeping in mind that Byron and Mary Shelley etc are what people usually think of when they hear that word!

Akelamalu said...

Ah you had the same thought as me - he's a gooseberry!

Love the offer from Mumbai. LOL

Love both of these, Sylvia.

Late this week. Still recovering from a Valentine's extravaganza. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Linda! LOL, I love it.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
