Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Click on the web address under the blog title and sign up to play with us!   Things are a little better weather wise, but I'm still having to rely on my files! BUT one day soon!!
In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

Beautiful photos Sylvia (as always). I especially love the duck! Hard at work in the shallows...

The duck is funny! I particularly love that last quote about bringing your own sunshine... When you do it has a way of lighting up a dark place in multiples!

All 3 of your images make me feel like whistling with slush in my shoe. I'm finding it hard to believe your weather is still keeping you from the chase....so sorry. Do have a happy weekend.

The first one is quite unsual in your reflection shot ; I like the contrast between the dark mass of what looks like an island and the blue enlighted of the rest of the image... Great shot indeed...

And the duck made me smile...

Have a lovely end of week too, my dear...

Hi Sylvia, I especially like that last quote. isn't that the truth? if we make our own then what the sky is doing doesn't matter so much. I love the duck butt. have a great weekend Sylvia. love your new header to btw!

My goal is just to HAVE files as beautiful as yours. I do hope you get some spring weather soon, but I am sure none of us mind seeing your beautiful photos no matter when they were taken. And besides your quotes are always so fresh and perfect.

I am very far behind and have just read through 8 or so of your wonderful posts and am very happy! As your blog always brings cheer. I had to forward to "walking" one to my husband (Ah the modern way to communicate -- we use the same computer, but he's not here right now).

And did you move? I didn't find but one mention that you were looking for someplace new and I see it in your header. But you are still in Seattle I assume? Otherwise you wouldn't be talking about gray skies.

Anyway, cheers and best wishes for a soon-to-come spring wherever you are.

peek-a-boo, you can't see me says the duck.

This reminds me of when I was a teen ager. I had to take care of my parents' ducks, and they did this in the creek and when it flooded.

I absolutely love the first quote by Aristotle. I have always been able to find something to marvel at no matter how "ugly" a landscape is.

You are the oracle of Seattle Sylvia. We went on a road trip to Oklahoma City and just got back so I'm a chilling right now.

To reflect on bringing my own sunshine is a very worthy reminder.

My observation relates, not to your Weekend Reflection post, but to Pavel Friedman's quote you ha on your side-bar. Was so touched by what I read that had to post this somewhere. His reference to butterfly in the ghetto brings you close to tears.

Is that an island on top? How wonderfully green!

Sylvia, another SUPER heading! I notice the moving truck and read in your comment on another blog you'll soon be making a change. Hope that is all a pleasure for you, although the moving itself can be a big chore. We'll need to move out of the house we have made a home for the past seven years by the end of August and I am NOT looking forward to the hunt or the packing. You have a treasure archive... another super set of photos for WR. What's not to like about that ducking duck!

Wow! You have a lot of visitors, Sylvia!

He he he! Funny duck! It made my day;o)
And the first shot is simply wonderful! Beautiful blue sky and shimmering water!
And with the last shot I will say: I came, I saw and I was conquered;o)
Thanks for sharing, Sylvia;o)

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company.
