Sam and I have gotten pretty well settled in and as soon as we did, the rain and gray returned!! But I got a few shots -- my messy desk in the office, colored glass and lace in my bedroom, beautiful tulips on roof and Sam the day before we moved. Then yesterday I was sitting at my desk and glanced at the roof of the apartment building across the street and there was seagull sitting there and looking as though he was checking me out and I managed to get a shot -- through the window!! |

Love your photos and your blog! I'm now following you. Our lives a very similar. I'm retired, live in Port Orchard, have a son in Seattle, and I love photography. I hope you will follow me also.

A seagull on the roof--what an unusual shot (and well done)!
I HAD A LITTLE SHADOW
(With apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson)
I had a little shadow
No bigger than my thumb;
I took him to the meadow
And there I gave him rum.
My drunken little shadow
Did weave and bob and pitch;
He stumbled from the meadow
And fell into a ditch!

Near Puget Sound, I guess all shadow hunters, or those tired of gray skies must take advantage of any and all sun that graces the day. The sunny day allows to to enjoy the wonder of Spring, stay outdoors and capture it all digitally!
Happy SSS Miss Sylvia and Happy Mother's Day too! Hugs to your little poochie.
congratulations on your new place!
Love the seagull and doggie shadows:)

Happy Mom's Day
Hi Sylvia,
Glad you are settling in, & thanks for the glimpses into your new home. I must say, though, that if your desk is messy, then mine is beyond help!
Also, that seagull is looking for a handout, and is sizing you up for a donor, I think!
Thanks for the visit, and have a wonderful weekend!
And you didn't even have to leave home to get that shot of the seagull! Fabulous! Looks like you are off to a good start for the weekend.
A seagull and its shadow — a perfect Seattle Shadow Shot!
But if that is a messy desk...no, you're kidding, right? I hope you never see mine!

I love the lace, and that seagull casts a boild shadow as well. I wanted to ask you, are you still from over the hill now that you've moved? Hope all is good with you.
Peace
Hey Sylvia, I hope you have a great Mother's Day tomorrow. Sorry I haven't been visiting. I'm on the board of the Autism Center of Tulsa and we have been working on our annual 5K fundraiser that we had today (and was a great success.)
Take care!
So very beautiful. I love those peaceful, inviting interior images. Thanks for another beautiful post.
I like the shadow of the gull, it looks like it doesn't have a care in the world.

Yout shadow shots are so different from your new abode. How did you manage the move and have you already found some kindred spirits?
What great shadows! Love the tilt of the gull's head - almost as if he was talking to you!
Hope you are mostly settled in your new place!
