Oh Sylvia, what a wonderful, humorous tribute to a wonderfully, generous man. We grew up with this gentleman and are all the better for it. Thank you ...

Also, love the header ... wish I could get cards like that :)

Bob Hope was really a true humanitarian. Here is a link to a little known fact about Bob Hope and his effort to make Washington DC and the American public aware of the holocaust going on in Germany in 1944. http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0703/hope_holocaust.php3. It is well worth reading.

Oh, yes, a trip down memory lane. I get nostalgic thinking about his Christmas shows he did for the troops.

He was the best. Born the same year as my dad, he lived about 20 years longer. What a guy! Can you think of anyone these days who even comes close?

Gosh, even I remember him. I can't believe it's been that long!

Oh, I love this, Sylvia! I actually heard him say some of those one-liners, too. :)
I've been trying to subscribe by email to your posts to no avail. Is there a secret I don't know about? Thanks!

Good ones, Sylvia!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
