Well what do you know! I like bananas, now I might just keep them around a wee bit longer before eating them. thank you for this interesting info Sylvia!
huh, did not know that about brown bananas...i eat them regardless...when we lived in florida we had a banana tree...off the tree they taste much different than what you get in the store...
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.

Good to know. I always go for the unripe ones, and use the old ones for banana bread or a smoothie.

didn't know about the brown spots, but now i do! i knew it lowered blood pressure and helped with lactic acid build-up from sore muscles. :)
