Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

Where the old tracks are lost, new country is revealed with its wonders.
Rabindranath Tagore

Most things break, including hearts. The lessons of life amount not to wisdom, but to scar tissue and callus.
Wallace Stegner

Life is not having been told that the man has just waxed the floor.
~Ogden Nash

With begging and scrambling we find very little, but with being true to ourselves we find a great deal more.
Rabindranath Tagore

Thanks for these great views and the wonderful blend of perspectives in the quotes. Stegner rings true most days at work, and Tagore, all the time. You remind me to go gently.

They are all beautiful Sylvia. As ever, your quotations remain inspirational.

Been a long time I haven't sneak in. Am trying to catch up with everyone now.

"I live in the city but at least once a week I dream of the ocean", love this quote although I don't know who it's from. I wish I were standing in front of the ocean right now, love the pics. Have a blessed day.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
