Sky Watch Friday!

Time once again to share your beautiful skies! Sky Watch is generously hosted each week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise! Click here to sign up and join us for the fun and the beauty!

We've been seeing some Fall like clouds in Seattle this past week. We've had some rain and moody skies -- their mood seems to match ours on the ground. While Fall is incredibly beautiful here in the northwest, it was a very LONG winter last year and the summer has seemed rather short. But at least we're never lacking for lovely, colorful skies. These were taken, as many of mine are from our deck at different hours during the past few days.

This is what I meant by moody!

A little happier.

And glorious once again!

Definitely glorious sky shots.

Nice, I like the sun low on the horizon. You do get nice clouds up your way, nice as long as they let the sun poke through.

I didn't realize you were from Seattle; I'm from the other side of the hill in Spokane. Love your beautiful shots. Scrolling down I recognized a lot from the Oregon coast. I've even stood in the same spot on Hwy. 101 to take a picture of Manzanita below.

Lovely shots - I guess you're near the sea so that affects your skies, similarly to the UK since nowhere's all that far from one sea or another. I wish you a peaceful and happy weekend.

All those skies are absolutely captivating--mood swings and all.

Lovely photos!!! The northeast is pretty much the same as of late...very chilly!! I especially love the last picture where the sun is peeking behind the trees! happy SkyWatch

Here's hoping you get more of the sunnier cloud variety of skies and that winter will not be quite as severe as the last!

In the mean time, enjoy the fall spectacular.

Lovely selection of shots. Have a nice weekend.

Moody is a great word for those skies!
The sunsets are so wonderful... It's the kind of sky that makes me leave my dishes in the sink and run out the front door for a walk!
All the best for a great weekend!

Know what you mean about long winters and short summers Sylvia. Your skies seem to be similar to ours at the moment, changing by the second. Never a dull moment eh?

Linda Jacobs said...

Like a whole day's worth of clouds! All are awesome.

Thank you for your visit, Sylvia. I like that name - it was my grandmother's.

Like you I do not have any grandchildren - yet. Although I am still working, many of my pleasures seem to align with yours, especially photography and reading but to that I also add music and theatre.

I have you have a joyous weekend.

You sure do have a wonderful seat to enjoy the wonderful display that mother nature put on, Sylivia.
I hope your winter is more pleasant this year:)

Love the idea of 'moody skies' ;)

I also like the idea that the sky is a constant blue...and that while the clouds drift in and out... it remains the same...

Much love to you dear friend,

Always, M

Lovely Sylvia. Great that you have the vantage point from your deck, just as I have on the hill here.

A beautiful series for SkyWatch! The clouds are awesome.

Love the subtlety of the layers and colors. I'd actually choose these over the big blowzy colorful stuff that attracts most photographers. The best thing about looking up is seeing all the variety. Thanks for a nice sendoff to a skywatching (cloudy, stormy here) weekend.

And a very nice sunset to end with!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company.
