Why Some Men Have Dogs And Not Wives

1. The later you are, the more excited your dogs are to see you.
2. Dogs don't notice if you call them by another dog's name.
3. Dogs like it if you leave a lot of things on the floor.
4. A dog's parents never visit.
5. Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.
6. You never have to wait for a dog; they're ready to go 24 hours a day.

7. Dogs find you amusing when you're drunk..
8. Dogs like to go hunting and fishing.
9. A dog will not wake you up at night to ask, "If I died, would you get another
dog?"
10. If a dog has babies, you can put an ad in the paper and give them away.
11. A dog will let you put a studded collar on it without calling you a pervert.

12. If a dog smells another dog on you, they don't get mad. They just think it's interesting.
13. Dogs like to ride in the back of a pickup truck.

And last, but not least:
14. If a dog leaves, it won't take half of your stuff.

Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car for an hour. Then open the trunk and see who's happy to see you.

Sky Watch Friday!

Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch Team -- Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and myself. Click on the icon and sign up to share the beauty of your skies with the hundreds of people all over the world who post theirs each week!

In spite of all the whining I do about winter and gray skies, we've actually had the mildest winter on record!! Go figure! And for what it's worth, they are predicting lovely weather for the next week. So, we're having some sun, some blue skies, but also some incredibly beautiful, colorful clouds so this week I'm focusing on them. Maybe if I'm nice to them, they'll let more sunshine slip through!

More varied than any landscape was the landscape in the sky, with islands of gold and silver, peninsulas of apricot and rose against a background of many shades of turquoise and azure.
~Cecil Beaton

The Sky is the daily bread of the imagination.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Those grey skies are just a challenge for optimists

Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day. ~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks. ~Charles Gordy

Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been. ~Mark Twain

The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief. ~William Shakespeare, Othello

The fifth : Teaching the yuppies....
The
white haired seniors
tagging behind
the cool yuppies
dark with intent,
a few blondes
to the side;

The seniors
need to push,
the yuppies,
dense with
condensed thoughts,
crowded in lethargy.

And as they wander
high above the earth
watching
the going ons below,
a senior spies
a few parched lands,
gives some yuppies
a push,
to say,
"Corporate Social Responsibilty
means,
becoming Rain
for those that
look up to you,
parched and arrid....."

They rumble,
and grumble,
but
then again,
there's a flash
of realization,
and they
pour down in torrents....

Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn't stop to enjoy it. ~William Feather

Whale or Mermaid ! ! !

Recently, in a large city in Australia ,
a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym.
It said, "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

A middle-aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern,
Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans.)
They have an active sex life, get pregnant and have adorable baby whales.
They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp.
They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia,
the Bering Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia .Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist.
If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life
because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have sex?
Just look at them ... where is IT? Therefore, they don't have kids either.
Not to mention, who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me: I want to be a whale.
P..S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver, and a piece of chocolate with my friends.

With time, we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.
Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, ¨Good grief, look how smart I am!¨

That's My World - Seattle From Above

Time to show your world! That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World Team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and myself. It's a fun way to travel the world without leaving your favorite chair. So click on the icon, sign up and join the fun!

When my birthday rolled around -- AGAIN -- two years ago, my niece from Maryland flew to Seattle and my son, Adam, surprised me with a flight in a seaplane over Seattle and the surrounding area. I had been fascinated by the seaplanes as soon as I had moved to Seattle and that morning as we were on our way to pick up my niece, I saw one landing on the water in the harbor. Little did I know that my deadpan son was having hard time hiding his grin. An hour later as we pulled into the parking lot and I saw the sign and his big smile, I was nearly jumping up and down with excitement. And because it was my birthday, I got to sit in the co-pilot's seat! What a view that was. Adam took all the shots that day and I posted some of them on my first blog, which I ended up losing, so I thought I would share them here today.
Click on any of the pics to embiggen and see more details. It was the best birthday ever! Well, of course, I say that every year!

"He asked me to marry him, but I told him I was in love with Johnny Depp,
so he bought this, showed up dressed like a pirate! Far out, huh?"

Dear Abby -- Help!

DEAR ABBY ADMITTED SHE WAS AT A LOSS
TO ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:

Dear Abby,
A couple of women moved in across the hall from me.
One is a middle-aged gym teacher and the other is a
social worker in her mid twenties. These two women
go everywhere together and I've never seen a man
go into or leave their apartment. Do you think they
could be Lebanese?

Dear Abby,
What can I do about all the Sex,
Nudity, Fowl Language and Violence
on my VCR?

Dear Abby,
I have a man I can't trust. He cheats so much,
I'm not even sure the baby I'm carrying is his.

Dear Abby,
I am a twenty-three year old liberated woman
who has been on the pill for two years. It's
getting expensive and I think my boyfriend
should share half the cost, but I don't know
him well enough to discuss money with him.

Dear Abby,
I've suspected that my husband
has been fooling around, and
when confronted with the
evidence, he denied everything
and said it would never
happen again.

Dear Abby,
Our son writes that he is taking Judo. Why would a
boy who was raised in a good Christian home turn
against his own?

Dear Abby,
I joined the Navy to see the world. I've seen it.
Now how do I get out?

Dear Abby,
My forty-year old son has been paying a psychiatrist
$50.00 an hour every week for two and a half years.
He must be crazy..

Dear Abby,
I was married to Bill for three months and I didn't
know he drank until one night he came home sober.

Dear Abby,
My mother is mean and short tempered.
I think she is going through mental pause.

Dear Abby,
You told some woman whose husband had lost all
interest in sex to send him to a doctor. Well, my
husband lost all interest in sex and he is a doctor.
Now what do I do?

Happy Valentine's Day on Pet Pride!!

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon. ~Author Unknown

So where are our Valentines if this is such big day????

Here it is guys, just for you!!

Well, that's a little better, but I still don't see what all the hoohah is about! We'd still rather go play with Bozo, so if you guys out there feel the same way, get your human to click on The Man's picture and we'll all celebrate this sissy day in our own way!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
