That's My World -- The Washington Coast

It's time again to show off your world! That's My World is hosted every week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise. Click here to sign up and share with all of us the beauty of your world!

One of the most spectacular things about the northwest and most definitely my favorite are the coasts of both Washington and Oregon. Today I'm sharing the Washington coast with you. As most of you know, I have only taken up photography recently and while I have traveled up and down the coastline here in Washington, I unfortunately was not taking photos. So, needless to say, my cache of photos was quickly depleted although I'm trying to replenish as quickly as possible. Fortunately, Google has a marvelous supply, so these are courtesy of Sir Google! The beauty here doesn't require any words from me.

We spent four years on the Olympic Peninsula, and in all that time never made it over to the Washington coastline. I can see from these beautiful photos we really missed out seeing a stunning place.

The photos are beautiful. We went to Ruby beach on the peninsula a couple of times. I think one of your photos may be of that spot. A spectacular place.

Truly one of the most beautiful spots in North America. Lovely photos allowed me to see it from my chair. Thank you.

Missed come here, Sylvia. Love the new look on the blog and caught up on the posts on the main page. We're going to be on the other coast this summer, but we seriously considered heading towards yours. We've heard so much about the beauty of that part of the country and seen some of it! Hope your summer's going good.

Yikes! That should have been "missed coming here!" :)

I always think Oregon is inland and have to remind myself it has such a magnificent coastline. I promise not to move Oregon again mentally. It is too pretty where it is.

Great pictures. My wife and I spent a week on the Oregon coast a few years ago and loved it. We were looking for a change from the Oklahoma heat in August and boy did we get a change. It was great.

Beautiful photos. My aunt who lives in Seattle (couple of years)is about to move to North Carolina. I'm guessing she has never seen this beauty. I better tell her now before she misses this. Thanks for sharing.

Phenomenal!!! I must visit there and bring my camera!

Thank you Sylvia for the memories - no intended reference to the post below. We once crossed Canada from Montreal to Vancouver and went down the coasr to San Francisco. That was a long time ago and the photos were destroyed in the fire anyway, so it was good to have our memories refreshed again.

I love the ocean. Looks like you've been getting some good weather out in the north west. Here in the north east it has been nothing but rain.

I still haven't made it to the coast and I've been here for 10 years! I'm looking forward to seeing it as well as your pictures from the coast.

Sylvia: Your coastline in the Pacific NW is certainly wonderful. I hope to see some of your photos soon.

Great photos for My World. My favorite is the pink sky behind the lighthouse. The beaches of the Pacific Northwest are so differnt from the beaches of the low country of the Southeast.

Just beautiful. I love the Washington coast. We visit almost every year to see the grandson. Oregon is on my list! Thank you for sharing Mother Nature and her amazing beauty.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
