Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

A goodbye isn't painful unless you're never going to say hello again. ~Author Unknown

Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once. ~Lillian Dickson

We are born wet, naked, and hungry. Then things get worse. ~Author Unknown

Where you find quality, you will find a craftsman, not a quality-control expert. ~Robert Brault, www.robertbrault.com

Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are. ~Malcolm S. Forbes

The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing which stands in their way. ~William Blake

I am trying to decide which I like better...your photos or your quotes. They are both so-oo great!

The last quote reminds me of how how much it has sucked to be living in an region so dependent on logging. Sometimes when hiking I tap the trunk of certain trees and tell them how lovely they are. I am sure there are those who think I am insane!

Sylvia, thank you so much for visiting my site on SS.
And thanks for the absolutely soul-stirring pictures on your site.
I am a quote person but don't have any on my site. I'll have to get busy.
Blessings
Rae

The idea of quality reminds me of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The prof. goes nutty by not being able to define quality. Quality is authentic. It is relaxed. It can not be repeated. It is given from the heart and therefore can not be controled. It is something created from one being in touch with their feelings. Quality lives in the Moment.

Long time since I've seen William Blake quoted - keep forgetting what a genius he was.
Don't know about life being a coin - more like a wad of banknotes.

You could turn this selection of photos and quotes into a slide show. The kind people like to forward by e-mail.

Hi Sylvia!
Thank you for beautiful pictures and words.
I know "Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish"
but sometimes life is hard.
Now I'm having tough days and I don't know how treat them.

It is so easy when we are born because other people take care of us all the time.

How to make a website

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
