Sky Watch Friday!

So, how are your skies this December day? Click on the icon and join Sky Watch! Klaus and the Sky Watch team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and myself host Sky Watch every week and it's a marvelous opportunity to share the beauty of your skies with people from all over the world. Please do read and follow the directions!

Here in Seattle we've had a little of everything, but right now it is brilliantly sunny, not one cloud, but who knows what tomorrow will bring???

When I woke up this morning and staggered up the stairs to feed the dogs, I glanced out the window and couldn't believe my eyes! It was a full moon, beginning to fade in a cloudless sky! I barely caught these two shots, and to see them well at all, you need to click on them to embiggen, but it was a breathless moment!

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains! ~John Muir

I drove down to the harbor later to get a glimpse of snow on the Cascades, and again, not a cloud, just brilliant sunshine and blue skies!

But earlier this week we had our usual glorious sunsets!

The poetry of the earth is never dead. ~John Keats

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~Kahlil Gibran

The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man. ~Author Unknown

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. ~John Muir

Your skies have an astoundingly bleak beauty at this time of the year, Sylvia. I can imagine you throwing yourself all over town to capture your photographs.

Good image!

Sylvia, isn't it funny how similar, yet how very different, our parts of the world are?

Lovely shots. I think that I would recognize "the Sylvia style" of photography anywhere now, as you always capture such sweet soft colors. Thank you for sharing and for being such a wonderful supporter of Skywatch, as well as being a host.

Nature has it's phenomenas popping here and there and it takes luck and effort to capture them. Or dogs;) I've noticed having a dog makes you see and encounter more.

Hi Sylvia, Thanks for the visit! Your skies are lovely; the shots of the moon look like the same dawn, with the same colors, just different trees! I agree, we have very similar shots.

Yum! I'm terribly grateful to you for keeping me abreast of Seattle-area weather and the lovely skies thereabouts. My son's too busy these days to look up.

I really love the fact that you folks get the same weather, though a bit earlier than we do--and you're much better at getting it on film than I am. Thanks for sharing these!
