Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!! And another week of "iffy" weather! Some snow, lots of cold, temps in the teens and then a little lovely sunshine and blue skies! Nothing like variety! Right???  Well, when it gets really bad we can always have a sip of brandy while we wait for the sun to make another visit!! Help yourselves -- I left it on the windowsill!!

This is a beautiful shadow montage, Sylvia. I love the boats, and of course the brandy (although Scotch is more my thing, I won't turn down a nice bit of brandy). After all, variety is the spice of life!

The feeling all over is of warm days, the result of the strong sun (except for those people bundled at up the beach). So the shadows around and inside the house are inviting us to enjoy the day. Although Seattle is having colder than normal days now. However, we know Spring awaits, and we are ready!

The west coast has had a variety of weather this week. The rain is ok but I could do without the hard freeze.

Hi Sylvia...We are having lots of Sunny days here in Texas and it sure makes for some wonderful Shadow Shooting! You sure made the most of the sun and shadows in each of your photos in the montage. Love both of the window sill shots....or maybe I should say I'd love a shot of what's on the window sill!

In my entry for Shadow Shot Sunday, I didn't give any explanation as to the whereabouts of the house...no one would know anyway, but you will. They were taken in Royalty, Texas....just down the road from our home town. You know it was always just a blink of the eye town anyway, and now most of it looks like the abandoned house that I could not resist getting a few shots of....the light was amazing that afternoon.

I'm sending some Texas Sunshine your way! It'll warm ya up real quick like! Have a great week! Sue

Don't mind if I do help myself! Is that Gig Harbor? Not that I've ever seen it, but I used to know some people who lived there.
Hope your weekend is full of fun!

A fantastic collection of shadows Sylvia! And thanks so much for sharing your brandy. I'm actually surprised that there's any left considering so many people have arrived here today way before me! Have a great week :)

I like the boats and family outing best. You have a great touch at making a nice grouping of shadows come together.

I love the glowing pumpkins in the window, and I like all the through-the-window shots. There's a distance that can't be crossed but is. Intense.

Is there any brandy left, or should I drop in at the bottle shop for another? You have a glorious selection of shadows. I love your windowsills, they're so inviting.

What a clever way to do your Shadow Shots each week. You are right, we are surrounded by interesting (and elusive) shadows everyday. The strangest things can make great photos sometimes. Mickie

Great shadows Sylvia. You always manage to get so many.
I was sorry not to be able to join in this week. Just too much happening at home.

Hope you get some more sunshine.

Those tiny pumpkins certainly do brighten up the windowsill!

These are all nice as usual, but I especially like the railing shot and the color the contents of the bottle on the windowsill cast in the shadow. The reflection/shadow of the masts from the boats is also very cool. Nice job!

Peace.

Lovely montage, Sylvia.

Love the pumpkin display.

Brandy, eh? :-)
I rarely have anything other than wine..

Enjoy your Sunday.

Oh, Sylvia, you always delight me! All of your shadow shots are wonderful, but I think I love the boats and stairs the very best this week.

Your dogs are too cute, all dressed in their fancy hats. I'll have to check into that meme. I've been thinking about dressing Dana up ... and Sonny too, if he'll let me.

Have a wonderful week, and thanks so much for stopping by yesterday.

I like your collage of shadow shots. You get some great shadows around your house. Since it's pouring down rain here at the moment that brandy sounds very enticing.

Delightful shadows, Sylvia...and your creative montages show each one to its best advantage!

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday...:)

Another great collage. I like all the sailboats the best. Here in landlocked Oklahoma (although Tulsa is an official seaport!) we don't see too many sailboats.

I like shadows and reflections together, so I especially like the boats in the lower left corner. Also...the pups look so cute gearing up for St. Pat's Day!!

Linnea said...

Nice collection. I love how you put together the collages. I even recognize a few of those spots from our outing! We get a lot of mileage out of our shots, don't we!!

Hi Sylvia, Sorry I'm so late getting to your blog, I've been building a small greenhouse for my wife and it was warm and sunny today, so I went out seeking shadows and reflections.

A wonderful collection of colorful shadows, thanks!

Fantastic shadow shots. Love your collage too.
