We've had some sun this week, not much, but better than none at all!!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend with lots of sun and shadows!

Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Click on the web address under the blog title and sign up to play with us! Back to the archives -- I'm going to run out of pics altogether if this grumpy weather continues with just enough sun to tease!! But considering the weather  everywhere else, I shouldn't complain and so I'll stop right now and wish you all a wonderful weekend with lots of love and laughter and whatever else floats your boat! Enjoy!
Life loves the liver of it.
Maya Angelou

 It takes all kinds,
and all shapes;
and to coexist,
you can't just
"reflect"
on yourself.

Mangrovy ones,
weighted
with the worries
of age,
spread thin
across the middle...

Sparse Bamboo style,
thin branches
finding their way
carrying
inquisitive
pointy leaves

Regular
lushly foliated,
40-is-the-new-20,
mango and jamun,
in anticipation
of new fruit,
bending
from a bit of
safe distance
....

And some really
indisciplined
long ,
green
young blades,
rabble rousing
pushing each other
into the water.....

They enjoy together,
because,
unable to
selfishly
"reflect"
on themselves,
they can only see each other
when they look into the water....

As I grow older, I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.
Andrew Carnegie

To keep the heart unwrinkled, to be hopeful, kindly, cheerful, reverent that is to triumph over old age.

Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the address under the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up.  These five shots were taken over five nights, starting last Friday. It seems no matter what the weather does during the day, the skies celebrate the end of each day -- and so do I!

Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.

To All the Tater People in the World!!

Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just content to watch while others do the work.  They are called "Spec Taters".

Some people never do anything either, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do the work.
They are called "Comment Taters".

Some people are very bossy and like to tell others what to do, but don't want to soil their own hands.
They are called "Dick Taters".

Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. It is too hot or toocold, too sour or too sweet.
They are called "Agie Taters".

There are those who say they will help, but somehow just never get around to actually doing the promised help.
They are call "Hezzie Taters".

Some people can put up a front and pretend to be someone they are not.
They are called "Emma Taters".

Then there are those who love others and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sunshine into the lives of others.
They are called "Sweet Taters".

So, how's your day going? Hope it's better than this poor little guys!! Scary, huh?

ABC Wednesday - U!

Got your dictionary out? You ready to play with the letters? It's that time again! ABC Wednesday is hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt and the ABC team: Denise, Annelie, Leslie, Nathalie, Joyce, Donna, Helen, Roger, Troy, Jay, Barb, Gattina and me! And guess what? It's that day again!  It's ABC Wednesday!!
Uh-huh, it's the U Day! Get out your Umbrella and your Ukulele and start preparing an Unforgettable post for the day! I Understand if you want to go Underground -- it is a Unique letter, but I know you can come up with the Ultimate submission for the day. It would be Unfair to all those ABCers who are struggling, too, if you don't give your Utmost for the day! And that does it for me -- I'm Undone, Unpaid and Utterly exhausted! My U words for the day are, Unforgettable skies, Umbrella, Ugly Ducky -- well maybe just Ugly for the day to help me out! And lastly U is for Underwater fun!  And, yes, they're all four mine!  Take that Sir Google!!

Just click on the post title, read the rules, sign up and play with us! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for?

We've had three gorgeous, sunny, warm days!! I went from taking pictures of my rain spattered windows to my first decent capture of Mt. Rainier in the space of one day! Fantastic! The blue skies and Rainier are getting ready to disappear again in the next couple of days, but, oh, I have enjoyed what we have had -- as you can see!!  You can click on the pic to enlarge.

POOF and the light goes off

An 8
6-year-old man goes for a physical.  All of his test results come back normal.

The doctor says, "Eddie everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally?  Are you at peace with God?"
Eddie replies, "God and I are tight.

He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, *poof* the light goes on.  When I'm done, *poof* the light goes off."

"Wow, that's incredible," the doctor says.

A little later in the day, the doctor calls Eddie's wife.

"Carolyn, he says,
Eddie is doing fine but I had to call you because I'm in awe of his relationship with God.  Is it true that he gets up during the night and *poof * the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done, *poof* the light goes off?"

"OH MY!" Carolyn exclaims.

"He's peeing in the refrigerator again!!!!"

AND!

English Grammar: Capitalization

In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, texting, and tweeting I've noticed  that more and more people who send messages and emails have forgotten the art of capitalization.

For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of
 the following statement.

"Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack
off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse."

Is everybody clear on that now?  Good!

Enjoy what's left of your week!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
