These photos were sent to me by a friend -- as usual, but they were a good reminder that I don't really know what cold is! They were taken in the town of Versoix which is near Geneva, Switzerland. Put a sweater on and enjoy! I just heard from Susan,This Irish Photographer, who let me know that Lac Leman, the lake you see, is Lake Geneva on English maps. Thank you so much for the info, Susan!

I just cannot even imagine ice such as this. I am not going to complain about the little ice we have anymore! Thank you for sharing; these are amazing.
Wow, Sylvia, I went to school near there! Sometimes we had to tunnel through the snow in spots on the way to school, and very often the snow would cave in, ugh, we'd be covered.
Lac Leman is Lake Geneva on an English map, a beautiful part of the world (especially if you like the colour white!!)
Thanks for the memories these photos brought back---suddenly I am sooo grateful to be spending THIS February in sunny Appalachia! LOL
You know, I see these pictures and then read June's post about the Aussie heat wave and fires, and I really dont know what to think ! This has to be so distressing ......
Ugich, I feel the same way! We've had such radical weather here in the states over the past year -- nothing like these photos or the horror in Australia, but lots of fires, flooding, along with heavy snows/ice storms in so many places! I'm ashamed of myself for whining over it just being gray and gloomy! even though our heavy snow earlier did pretty much bring Seattle to a halt -- they're not prepared here for that kind of snow!
And Canadians think we Swiss don't know winter :D :D
Amazing shots. Very content to live here in NY state thank you!
Unbelievable! And almost soothing for someone whose country has just suffered a devastating fire-storm!
Wow, that is a lot of ice! Great photos.
Yep, that's some ice they have there and I'll not complain about the cold we have here....well not for a few days anyway!
Brrrrrrrr
