Evening, Wisdom and Beauty
People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates. ~Thomas Szasz,
You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself. ~Alan Alda
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~Anaïs Nin
Sometimes it's better to put love into hugs than to put it into words. ~Author Unknown
Hugs grease the wheels of the world. ~Author Unknown
A true friend is one who thinks you are a good egg even if you are half-cracked. ~Author Unknown

Beautiful words and pictures, to put Mr Linky and all his hassles firmly in perspective.
Your world is quite stunning, you've posted some very pretty photos.
great shots to go with inspiring quotes as always, thanks for sharing. :)
Wonderful skies! That red one is amazing. My favorite is the mountain poking between the trees. It has a very interesting shape - like nipple :-) What is its name?
Does 3/4 cracked count? LOL. these are just wonderful. Have a great Tuesday :)
The beauty of words and photos that speak for themselves. Always here to read and appreciate. Always great posts.
The Alan Alda quote surprised me. I almost couldn't believe he said it. I know he's a smart guy but my MASH image of him is just to ingrained.
Nice post as always.
That first quote set the stage for the rest. I am still thinking about the meaning...
I don't think we ever arrive to the place of knowing who we are in this life.
I like your quotes about "finding yourself". It reminds me of those who think they have to go off to ponder the meaning of life. "Yourself" is who you are as you are living your life with purpose and meaning, not looking for it.
Wonderful photos and quotes. I think too much emphasis is put on the "me" and "finding myself" in modern day America, and not enough on duty, obligations and giving back to society. Some fathers walk out on their kids, but it's OK, because they "found" themselves (usually in the arms of a much younger woman).
I don't care about people, as much as what they've produced and accomplished and what they do.
Both words and pictures are exceptional today.
Lovely words to go with fab photos.
How well selected, beautiful thoughts, it is always a great pleasure reading them.
Your photos, just like your thoughts show a wonderful world.
I love those beautiful skies and sunsets and the mountains too.
"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves."
~Henry David Thoreau
I always love visiting your blog which consistently provides food for the soul and desert for the eyes.
Lovely world, and great quotes to pause over!
Sylvia -- what beautiful pictures and well-chosen quotes. I loved the one by Alan Alda -- who knew that he was such a philosopher!
I am definitely putting your blog on my favorites.
Cheers, your view from the hill is terrific and I'm glad you share it with us. Especially glad you visited me from beside the lake. Thank you for visiting My Muskoka !
Aw, hugs! I love those quotes. Love those photos too.
I thought money was the grease but hugs would be so much better.
