Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

One who seeks no friends is his own enemy.
- Russian Proverb

The time to make friends is before you need them.
- Traditional Proverb

Friendship doubles joy and halves grief.
- Egyptian Proverb

The "Fourth" dimension

Sometimes
Nature teaches.

Some ,
dome shaped,
calling you for namaaz;
Some
tall tower above
a temple
central sanctum
praying
and
rising to the heavens;
A pontiff,
hands outstretched
looking up
beseeching the Lord;

And
way to the right,
a congregation ,
a motley group,
a mixture
of all styles,
so enthused,
that
God, for them,
lies in the Green
of the Earth :
to worship,
preserve,
and protect....

A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway.
- Fr. Jerome Cummings

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
- Walter Winchell

Love is blind; friendship closes its eyes.

You have some beautiful sky shots this week! And superb quotes. The corollary to the traditional proverb is "begging is not the way to friendship". Love the story about sharing and your sky watch.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
