Thoughts

/\Namaste
All of these are by Tagore. He does say it all so beautifully. I really enjoy reading his poetry and looking for ones that I particularly like to share with you.
These are some of the beautiful things about love that perhaps we don't always think about. Love can make such a difference in all our lives if we recognize it and accept it rather than fight for or against it. And it comes to us in many differnt ways. Not the same for everyone. Not just lovers, wives or husbands or children. Sometimes the greatest love of all comes from those who can see inside us. And those might be husbands, wives, family, but they also may be those friends that somehow manage to see inside our hearts. How do you see love?

Love does not claim possession,
but gives freedom.

Love adorns itself;
it seeks to prove inward joy by outward beauty.

Love is an endless mystery,
for it has nothing else to explain it.

Love's gift cannot be given,
it waits to be accepted.

Tagore

Oh I really really like the way your write Sylvia. I really enjoy Tagore too. Love does come to us in many different ways and we need to be open to receiving it too. "Love's gift cannot be given,
it waits to be accepted." Love it!

Nice! Yet we live in a world that appreciates outer beauty more than inner beauty.

I have always thought I would have liked to live in his time, and to have known him. He must have been a man who was at peace with himself as he observed his world.

My favorite of his, I carried in my wallet for years until it was totally tattered and I had it inside my heart-- Let my love like sunlight surround you and yet give you illumined freedom.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
