A Blue Look at Texas

Although I don't talk about it much, I was born in Texas and grew up there. While it's not one of my favorite places in the world, about this time every year there are sights that will take your breath away and I'm going to share some of those with you now. Click on any of them to see the details, it's worth it.

Hi Sylvia,

I too lived (for a time) in Texas and I remember the bluebonnets covering the ground like a blanket.

Lovely pics Sylvia!

I've heard much about the bluebonnets of Texas. Your photos are fantastic!

I seldom wish for Texas but this time of year I do miss the wildflowers. I'd jump at a chance right now for a drive through the Texas hill country.

Lovely! I know the bluebonnets, but what are the red ones? They look kinda' like paintbrush.

Yikes! That is super spectacular! It's so beautiful.

Those are beautiful. I thought blue bonnets were some unusual flower until I visited Texas and found they were lupin but the Texas variety does put on a show I have never seen elsewhere.

OOOH! The one with the horizon fading to mist was sooooo pretty when all the colours were so striking in the foreground.

All beautiful! But I really like the 3-rd with the fog over the field of bluebonnets!

Beautiful photos, Sylvia. We don't see anything like that in Hawaii.

I know lupins from Austria, but I have never seen them before covering the meadows and hills as they to in Texas. Unbelievable and extremely beautiful!

Lovely stretch of blue flowers, so pleasing to eyes.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
