One of 'Those' Days

Posted by Picasa

I don't have many down days any more, but for some reason this was one of them and I have no idea what brought it on. There was some frustration trying to figure out how to be able to sign on to Mr. Linky for Sky Watch and My World -- haven't mastered that one yet in spite of tons of help from Rob of Inukshuk Adventure -- what a gem of a friend he's been! But those kinds of frustrations come and go all the time, so what else was there that got to me and is still hanging over my shoulder. I don't know, but I surely do hope it goes away or I manage to shoo it away! I don't have the time or patience for down days any more. We even had a little sunshine today! I should be jumping up and down and giggling.

But since I haven't been jumping up and down and giggling, I decided to look for something uplifting to help me out of the dark place. First of all I found a beautiful sky -- which always helps and then I found some wise words and I decided to share them both with you because that always makes me happy.

Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy.

So, I share some more of the beauty of the world with you this night.

As older women, do we not seem like teenagers sometimes with our mood swings? When I have things nagging at the back of my mind, I can ususaaly identify them, but they don't sound like much if I say them out loud. My remedy is usually to get busy with something that occupies either my mind or my body, or best of all, both. I went for a walk this afternoon in the sun and it felt great.

I have those occasional times when suddenly something will cross my mind and I'll feel really down and have trouble shaking it. Several days later, when I look back on it I'll think I made a mountain over a molehill but I really hate it when I feel down. You are an inspiration, Sylvia. I love how you get yourself up again.

Hi Sylvia I hope by the time you are reading this its a new day and you are feeling ok. Sometimes I think its hard to fight and maybe we have these days just to remind us that how good the good ones are! I love the way you can express how you feel and do not censor yourelf in that regard. The more we all do that the better. I came from a dark place in my life and sometimes I get triggers which take me right back again. Just hug yourself tightly. You are special lady, we really are! And tomorrow is a new day.

PS I get frustrated and down about all things tecnical too.

Greetings Sylvia from California.

I too feel that every thing in life should come easy. It's a path of grace. We should try and ease our way from moment to moment, feeling and sensing life's experiences from our very own personal point of view. Lets all follow a path of excitement. A path of joy and pure harmony.

I'm sorry you are feeling sad. It's hard in winter to raise your spirits. In summer one can always go dig in the dirt and plant something beautiful.

I hope today is a better day.

I am one of those people who believes that down times are part of life and nothing wrong with them. They aren't as enjoyable as up times but can be put to good use with switching activities to those that help to mine that time for full value. I read a book a few years back and wish I could remember the author right off hand but he has written quite a few books on spiritual topics. He said our culture tries to deny the dark times and medicate it away even but that it has value in a full experience of living life. I am of that belief but know it's not as much fun and that our particular culture pushes feel good as the right answer to everything (as I was just tempted to end this with hope you feel better soon). It's just how we think but I believe there is another way of seeing our dark times which we all have that isn't destructive and to make the most of them-- maybe some poetry? *s*)

This post reminds me of a song by Chris Smithers. The last line is, "I'm not a passenger, I am the ride."

I hope your day brightens.

If I am correct, your weather has been gloomy for several weeks and we are influenced by our surroundings. Perhaps that helped to contribute to your down day.

Computer problems can certainly ruin my day and since you just went through a day of frustration, perhaps this is the residue.

I am very sure you are normally a very cheerful and happy person and, therefore, I know your down day won't last.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
