ABC Wednesday -- J!

Time to practice your ABC's and today is the J Day! And Mrs. Denise Nesbitt is the teacher who gives you that very opportunity each week on ABC Wednesday! Click on her name to sign up and show us how smart you are!

J is for Jewelry!

And J is for the Jump Start Program where I volunteer!

And J is for Jacaranda tree! One of the loveliest trees that I found in Mexico when I lived in San Miguel de Allende.

And J is for Jump for Joy! Every day!
I'm adding this note because so many of you have commented on this shot -- I wish I could claim to have taken it, but a friend sent it to me and it was so perfect for the day, I just had to include it. Should have made that clear to begin with -- just assumed you guys would know that I'm not that good of a photographer!

I've not seen a jacaranda tree before but have always thought the word 'jacaranda' is rather a good one! Now I know the tree looks pretty good too.

And it seems very clever, to me, to be able to take such a jump photo.

Oh yes! JUMP for joy!

A street in a town near where I live is named Jacaranda so now I know what the tree looks like. Good for you for volunteering in a Jump Start program!

Indeed-great photos! I love the one of the kids jumping in the air. What a FABULOUS image! You should enter it in a photo contest somewhere. A winner.

Great J choices Sylvia. In 1971 a year before I went to kindergarten I went to Head Start, I wonder if Jump Start is the same. I loved Head Start. :)

James, the Jump Start program is similar to Head Start. It was started here in Seattle by a neighbor of ours and it is for pre-school children. I believe it really helps get them ready for kindergarten and being a former teacher, I enjoy working with them a couple of days a week.

Enjoyed all the J's, but the last photo is superb! What a perfect illustration of jumping for joy!

By the time I get here on Wednesday morning, you have usually posted your Tuesday evening words of wisdom, and I want you know how much I enjoy them, Sylvia. Feeling a bit under the weather today, I found these quotes so inspiring and motivating; thank you!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
